Top 5 Videos: The Importance of Training With ImplementAM

Published on November 26, 2023 by Madeleine P.
ImplementAM

Once again, we are back this Sunday with our list of top 5 3D printing videos of the week! We start off with a video with ImplementAM to learn more about the critical role that training plays in 3D printing, speaking with Stefan Jones from Elnik System and Kristin Mulherin. Next, we take a closer look at color 3D printing and its evolution with Dassault Systèmes and Mimaki before learning more about the new RAPID + TCT event. Afterward, check out a video about the essential design rules for mass production 3D printing before learning more about a recent project with 3D printed hair follicles. Happy Sunday and happy watching!

Top 1: ImplementAM Tells Us About the Importance of Training for Additive Manufacturing

We all know that two of the biggest obstacles to the adoption of additive manufacturing are lack of education and training, but what can we do to address this? Well, ImplementAM has made a name for itself in expanding training across the United States through its informative and cozy sessions. We spoke with Kristin Mulherin, one of the co-founders of the company, and Stefan Jones, one of the success stories, to learn more about the role that training plays especially as additive manufacturing grows and industrializes as well as ImplementAM’s goals.

Top 2: Learn More about 3D Printing in Color

Though 3D printing is often colorful, there are not many machines that are capable of what we would term true “color 3D printing” especially for multi-material or multicolor, projects. But there are manufacturers who are dominating the scene. Today, Japanese company Mimaki is one of the leaders in color 3D printing thanks to its material jetting solutions. Join them in this video, made with Dassault Systèmes, to learn more about the evolution of color 3D printing, the incredible materials compatible with it and the many, many applications including more realistic modeling, packaging, entertainment and much more.

Top 3: RAPID + TCT 2024 is Back in California!

Now that Formnext 2023 is done, there are many upcoming events in the additive manufacturing world that we can look forward to. One of the biggest in the United States is undoubtedly RAPID + TCT which recently announced a change of dates and location. Indeed, the event will now be taking place in June in Los Angeles, California, the first time in nearly a decade that it will be held on the West Coast. Learn more about what you can expect next year in the video from SME below:

Top 4: How to Design for Mass Production 3D Printing

As 3D printing industrializes, mass production is becoming increasingly desired by many in the sector. But due to additive manufacturing’s nature, it may not be as simple as some like to think. Luckily, design for additive manufacturing, or DfAM, and a knowledge of which technologies are best suited can go a long way to addressing the issue. That is why Slant 3D has launched its latest video on with eight essential design rules to optimize 3D printed parts for mass production. You can find them all in the video below:

Top 5: 3D Printed Hair Follicles in Lab-Grown Skin

We already told you about it earlier in the week, researchers have successfully 3D printed hair follicles in what could be a major breakthrough for restorative health medicine. Now, you can check out the video from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) with Pankaj Karande, associate professor and one of the leads on the project, to learn more about how it was done. See the video below to learn more:
