.This week’s Top 5 Videos include a variety of videos from a number of big brands. These range from documentaries about 3D printing gun rebel Cody Wilson, to videos from Markforged and EOS. Also, don’t forget to check out next week’s ranking next Sunday too.

1 – Markforged & SolidWorks

This video involves both Markforged and SolidWorks, and touches on a number of important things. Firstly, Markforged (who this year expanded into the metal industry) are 3D printing with carbon fibre, a super-strong material. Likewise, SolidWorks have a key mission objective too, to put powerful CAD systems into the hands of every engineer and designer.

2 – Octinion: Strawberry picking robot

This video shows Octinion’s prototype, a robot with a 3D-printed “hand” that picks strawberries autonomously. This robot can apparently pick 1 strawberry every 3 seconds (1200/h), and the advanced detection systems can even tell if a strawberry is ripe enough to be picked, before picking them!

3 – CSI 360 develop cardiovascular instruments

Sponsored by Stratasys, CSI 360 are using 3D printing to model structures to test and experiment on. This has allowed them to develop complex cardiovascular instruments. 3D printing has allowed them to innovate rapidly, and do many new reliability tests and model creation that could not be done without it.

4 – The New Radical trailer

Cody Wilson made headlines a few years ago when his 3D printed gun was downloaded over 100,000 times in just a day. This documentary follows Cody as he attempts his revolution through taking on the government, which all started with his 3D printing CAD files to print his gun.

5 – EOS P 500

EOS have created this video with stunning visuals for their new EOS P 500 printer. This uses a variety of new features including heating modules, intelligent interfaces that allow for some automisation, and more. This printer includes a recoater that can operate faster than any other printer, allowing for high-speed part printing.
