Proclaim Custom-Jet

In the realm of dental care, the fusion of health and technology has given rise to the Proclaim Custom-Jet Oral Health System, a groundbreaking innovation facilitated by additive manufacturing. Proclaim spearheads this revolutionary flossing approach, harnessing the power of 3D printing to provide the world’s first fully automated and custom-fit oral care system. While 3D printing in dentistry is not a novel concept, Proclaim promises the first truly comprehensive 360-degree deep clean.

Diverging from conventional dental tools, the Proclaim Custom-Jet is the tangible outcome of meticulous layering and personalized design, all made possible by the advanced precision of 3D printing technology. Each mouthpiece undergoes careful crafting to conform precisely to an individual’s unique dental contours. This tailored approach ensures precise direction of pressurized water to displace plaque and bacteria, addressing specific anatomical needs and delivering a personalized, custom-tailored oral health experience for every user.

With a significant portion of adults aged 30 and above grappling with gum disease, it is apparent that existing manual methods of cleaning fall short in effectiveness. The Proclaim Custom-Jet, through 3D printing, emerges as a custom and convenient alternative to traditional flossing.

How the Proclaim Custom-Jet Leverages 3D Printing for Personalized Oral Hygiene

To construct the mouthpiece, individuals must undergo a 3D digital scan of their mouth at a dental office vetted by Proclaim. This scan is uploaded into Proclaim’s design software, strategically positioning personally fitted and pressurized jets within the mouthpiece. 3D printing is employed to generate the final product from the scan, producing a custom-fitted and personalized mouthpiece for each user.

When in use, the mouthpiece is linked to a hydro station, propelling 60 pulse jets of pressurized water (22 ounces) into the mouth. This enables thorough cleaning of areas between the teeth and below the gumline. Within a brief 9-second interval, the entire oral care routine is completed.

Heberto Calves, CEO of Proclaim Health, explained, “By utilizing the latest in digital scanning, 3D printing, and advanced fluid dynamics to personalize and automate the cleaning process, we can effectively eliminate harmful bacteria, making at-home routines easier, faster, and more enjoyable.”

Supported by clinical studies, Proclaim asserts that its 3D printed mouthpiece achieves substantial reductions in gum disease within just 30 days. Participants apparently experienced an 82% reduction in gum bleeding, a 41% reduction in gum inflammation, and 23% reduction in pocket depth. They also experienced a 34% reduction in plaque accumulation.

Calves concluded, “The results of this clinical study prove that technological innovation can truly revolutionize and improve a routine, age-old practice with the push of a button. I predict it will positively impact hygiene behaviors and patient outcomes for generations to come.”

As the Proclaim Custom-Jet transforms oral care through 3D printing, it may offer a glimpse into the future of personalized dental solutions. Simultaneously, it highlights the broader impact of advanced 3D printing technology, shaping a new era in health practices.
