Materialise Talks the Importance of Software Providers for 3D Printing at RAPID + TCT

As you may already know, RAPID + TCT, the largest additive manufacturing event in North America, is known for bringing together all types of companies that encompass the production chain in one place. So, continuing our series of interviews ahead of the show that will take place this year from June 25-27 in Los Angeles, California, today we talk to another of the exhibitors that will be present at the event. In this case we met with Materialise, a company dedicated to providing advanced software solutions that optimize the part design process for additive manufacturing. We spoke with Egwin Bovyn, Product Line Manager at Materialise to learn more about their presence at RAPID + TCT and their expectations for the event.

3DN: Could you introduce yourself?

Egwin Bovyn

I am Egwin Bovyn, Product Line Manager for the Magics 3D Print Suite at Materialise. As the head of the development and product management team of Magics I oversee the vision, strategy, development and advancement of the Magics 3D Print Suite.

Magics 3D Print Suite is a comprehensive software solution that empowers users to prepare, optimize, and print 3D models with precision and efficiency.  With a deep understanding of the 3D printing landscape and the challenges faced by users, I strive to make Magics an indispensable tool for anyone involved in the 3D printing process. My focus lies on enhancing the user experience, streamlining workflows, and integrating cutting-edge features that address the evolving needs of the industry. Magics serves as a bridge between design and production, ensuring that 3D models are ready for seamless printing across a wide range of technologies and machines.

3DN: Why is it important to be at RAPID + TCT? What are the benefits of attending?

RAPID + TCT is the place where all the additive manufacturing stakeholders come together. From service providers to machine manufactures, software providers, customers but also press representatives. This makes it the best event of the year to do major product launches such as our flagship product Magics 3D print suite that we launch every year at RAPID + TCT, but also to connect to as many people as possible. To listen to their stories, to validate plans, to give shape to all the ideas that are buzzing around.

3DN: What is Materialise showcasing this year?

At this year’s RAPID +TCT, Materialise will showcase the next version of Magics, the market’s leading data and build preparation software for additive manufacturing. 3DN: What do you expect from the show? What will attendees get out of the exhibition?

We will focus on achieving first-time-right prints every time, introducing enhancements for both polymer and metal users. How to handle complex and large parts and partnership announcements on how to make this happen. I am most excited about how all the participants at RAPID + TCT are going to push additive manufacturing again to the next level. Everything is getting faster, bigger and more complex. To be able to see how everybody is bringing their solutions to the market and all of this in one spot is an amazing opportunity. It’s a week packed of meaningful discussions!
