JEOL Talks Metal Alloy Trends in Additive Manufacturing at RAPID + TCT 2025

This week, we are attending RAPID + TCT 2025, the largest and most important event for industrial 3D printing and additive manufacturing in North America. And as part of that, we are trying to get a better idea of what trends are present in additive manufacturing by talking to the people who are attending, the true lifeblood of the 3D printing sector. That’s why we decided to catch up with Jonathan Buckley from JEOL USA to get his insights into the trends and themes he is seeing on the trade floor, as well as how he sees the perspectives of the attendees at RAPID + TCT.
For those who may not know, JEOL is a leader in electron microscopy instruments and the company is also present in the AM market with electron beam powder bed solutions. This gives the company a unique perspective on the metal 3D printing market in particular. With Jonathan, we learned more about a number of subjects including what the latest trends in this sector, expected material development (especially in terms of refractory alloys for sectors like aerospace and nuclear), the importance of understanding the full 3D printing process from design through post-processing and, of course, how he sees the future of the market. Check out the full video below to hear him talking about these topics and more as well as giving his own view of RAPID + TCT and what has been great about this latest edition.
What do you think of the insights of Jonathan? What do you think of the presence of JEOL at RAPID + TCT and what it means for the market? Do you agree with his predictions?
