IGO3D, based in Germany, is one of the leading European distribution companies of professional additive manufacturing products and solutions. In order to offer customer-oriented 3D printing solutions, IGO3D is constantly expanding its international sales and retail network. In addition to offering a wide-range of 3D printers, the companies offers 3D scanners, software, accessories and cooperates with well-established manufacturers on the market.

In fact, over the last few months, the company observed an increasing number of industrial customers. A trend that reflects the industrialization and growing maturity of the additive manufacturing industry in general. As a result, IGO3D decided to establish a new department called Business Solutions. One focus of this new unit is the development of solutions for the dental market. The department will also focus on areas such as Industry 4.0 and Smart Factory, for example IGO3D can support companies that wish to establish 3D printing factory floors.

IGO3D GmbH is one of the fastest growing companies in Germany

In May, IGO3D achieved a big milestone. The company was chosen as one of FOCUS-BUSINESS’ Growth Champions, appearing in the current top 500 ranking. This ranking is compiled annually in cooperation with the statistics and market data portal Statista. This makes it one of the most successful and fastest-growing companies in Germany.

With this award, IGO3D GmbH has evidently proved its success in additive manufacturing. In the last years we have constantly developed and have grown with our customers. This good result in a nationwide comparison confirms that we are on the right track with our mission.” said managing director Athanassios Kotrotsios. “We are pleased to be one of the companies that enrich Germany as an innovative business location and are very proud of this award. We also would like to thank all our partners and customers who contributed to this success and above all to our great team.”

The selection of the winners of the Growth Champion Award is an elaborate process. FOCUS-BUSINESS asked 12,500 companies to participate in this competition, out of approximately 2 million, the criteria being employee and sales growth. In cooperation with the Institut Statista, the 500 fastest-growing companies from a total of 21 sectors were selected from 1,654 participating companies.

How does IGO3D see the future of the 3D printing market?

Of course this award marks an important milestone for the company and showcases the opportunities to be found in additive manufacturing. We spoke to Athanassios Kotrotsios who told us: “Every day, companies are discovering new ways of integrating additive manufacturing into the production process. The diverse areas of application range from the manufacture of tools and spare parts to functional parts for end applications, in the future the technology will develop into a regular manufacturing process in series production.” In fact, we are already seeing this development today, and many industries are increasingly using additive manufacturing, such as aerospace, automotive and medical.

Of course, being a supplier of these solutions is not the only expertise the company wishes to focus on. IGO3D understands that customers need to be guided during the adoption of the technology. Athanassios Kotrotsios concludes: “An important driver for this development will be specific expertise, which is currently still an obstacle to widespread implementation. Service sales are essential for us to ensure uncomplicated access and smooth processes.”
