Made by American company Desktop Metal, the Production System claims to be 100x faster (8200 cm3/hr) than other metal 3D printers currently on the market. The printer has a build volume of 330 x 330 x 330 mm. This is due to its single pass jetting technology and laser based systems.
This works through combining two powder spreaders and one print unit into a single pass system to both spread metal powder, and print. This is more efficient, saving time, energy, and money. Therefore, Desktop Metal claim that their 3D printers are for the first time bringing metal 3D printing to the forefront of metal manufacturing.
