China-based manufacturer FlashForge entered the 3D printing market in 2011. Since then, it has won over many users with its affordable, high-quality machines. They are based on the FDM and photopolymerization processes, and are aimed at more or less experienced targets, depending on the range. One of these is the Focus range, which includes the Focus 6K, Focus 6K XL and Focus 8.9 solutions. The latter is a resin 3D printer designed for the dental sector, offering excellent print quality and a wide range of applications.
Focus 8.9 3D Printer Features
The Focus 8.9 3D printer offers a print volume of 192 x 120 x 200 mm, 97% larger than other DLP machines, a layer thickness of between 0.025 and 0.2 mm, and XY-axis precision of 50 microns. It features a 3.5″ touchscreen and a 4K monochrome display for curing the resin, layer by layer. Print speeds range from 10 to 50 mm per hour.
Flashforge has developed an optical motor system for this 3D resin printer, which reduces the difference in energy distribution, improving not only the success rate of your prints, but above all their quality and precision.
In terms of applications, this machine is ideal for manufacturing orthodontic and dental parts, as well as prostheses and surgical guides for implants.
