Chat3D mise sur des logiciels sur mesure pour optimiser la création 3D

3D modeling is now central to many sectors , from video games and animation to additive manufacturing. However , it isn’t always easy to implement and sometimes remains ill-suited to real-world situations. This is precisely the challenge that Chat3D, a French technology company specializing in the development of custom software for 3D creation , aims to address . Rather than trying to replace artists , the company focuses on technological building blocks capable of automating certain tasks and integrating directly into existing workflows. The goal isn’t to rely solely on artificial intelligence, but to rethink 3D modeling solutions to adapt to individual needs. We spoke with the Chat3D team to learn more about their approach , their vision of machine learning applied to 3D modeling , and their ambitions for the coming years .
3DN: Can you briefly introduce yourself?
Chat3D is a technology company specializing in the design of custom software for 3D modeling. We primarily support video game studios, animation studios, and marketplaces by developing technological solutions tailored to their real-world production pipelines (blocking, texturing, rigging, etc.). Our approach is based on a deep understanding of artistic workflows and the development of targeted technological building blocks, directly integrated into the tools used by artists.

3DN: Why did you create Chat3D?
Chat3D was born from a simple observation: 3D modeling has become extremely complex, even as tools proliferate without always adapting to production realities. Our initial ambition was to simplify access to 3D creation through technology with a 3D modeling web application. Very quickly, our fieldwork showed us that the real value lay not in general-purpose tools, but in solutions capable of seamlessly integrating with existing workflows .
This is what led us to reposition Chat3D as a technology partner, capable of building tailor-made tools designed to accelerate specific stages of the pipeline, without disrupting existing teams.
3DN: What are the key features of your platform and what differentiates it from competing solutions?
Unlike many « one-click » or fully automated solutions, Chat3D takes a modular and targeted approach. We don’t aim to replace artists’ work, but rather to automate repetitive tasks, structure production workflows, and boost productivity where it has a real impact.
Our differentiation is based on three pillars:
- software designed around existing workflows,
- customized systems, adapted to the constraints of each studio,
- a technology developed in direct collaboration with artists and producers.
3DN: What makes Chat3D suitable for additive manufacturing?
Our modular approach and strict adherence to production constraints make our tools particularly well-suited to demanding environments such as additive manufacturing . We are able to develop solutions that take into account geometric, structural, and upstream model preparation constraints, in order to produce directly usable files.
Here again, our priority is reliability and compatibility with existing production lines.
3DN: What is your long-term vision for machine learning applied to 3D modeling?
We believe that machine learning is only valuable when integrated into concrete systems and used daily. In the long term, our vision is to make machine learning a silent infrastructure, serving artists and production teams, capable of increasing productivity without ever taking creative control.
This involves specialized tools, designed step by step, and close collaboration with end users to ensure natural adoption.
3DN: You recently raised funds: how will this accelerate your development?
This fundraising allows us to accelerate our progress in two key areas. Firstly, we will strengthen our research and development teams to design tools that are increasingly tailored to real-world conditions. Secondly, we will expand our production studio, Overnight Studio, which serves as an operational laboratory for testing, measuring, and improving our technologies in real-world environments.
3DN: Any final words for our readers?
Technology is only valuable when it works in the real world of production. At Chat3D, we believe in a pragmatic approach, built with and for artists , to create tools that integrate seamlessly into existing pipelines and deliver a measurable impact.
