3D Model Generator Tripo AI Raises 3 Billion Yuan in Series B and Series B+ Funding

On September 1, 2026, the generative 3D company Tripo AI announced it had raised approximately 3 billion yuan in its Series B and Series B+ financing rounds, equivalent to roughly $446 million USD. The funding will help the Tripo team accelerate 3D-native foundation models and 3D data infrastructure, expand computing infrastructure for AI training and inference, and fuel product development and commercialization. This news comes a few months after a similar platform, Meshy AI, raised nearly $400 million in its Series B round, signalling strong overall interest in generative 3D.

At the same time as the financing round completion, Tripo announced a breakthrough in its 3D-native foundation models, with the preview release of Tripo P2.0. This new foundation model allows for quad topology, a first for the industry.

What Is Quad Topology?

With quad topology, users can directly generate a clean quad mesh with more natural edge flow, making the asset easier to edit, rig, and animate. Triangle topology supports 500 to 50,000 faces, while quad topology supports 500 to 25,000 faces, covering most props and hero characters. With these capabilities, Tripo AI’s P2.0 is well-suited for rigging and animating game characters and props, and for generating production-ready 3D objects in seconds.

Who Backed the Deal

The Tripo AI financing was led by MPCi, the latest funding attracted a diverse set of institutions from various sectors. Major strategic and industry investors included Perfect World, BlueFocus, SPC, Yanqu Games, ThunderSoft, and 37 Interactive Entertainment. The financing rounds were also backed by financial investors such as CDH Venture and Growth Capital, CICC, CMC Capital Partners, Hongtai Aplus, 3H Health, Zhongping Capital, and GreatOrigin Asia. Existing investors Fortune Capital, Primavera Capital, 4399 Network, Muhua Tech Ventures, Vitalbridge Capital, INCE Capital, and T-Capital further increased their investments.
