Creality Print is Creality’s free slicer for FDM 3D printers, used to convert a 3D model into the G-code a printer can read. It replaced Creality Slicer, the brand’s older Cura-based software, and since version 5.0 has been built on OrcaSlicer instead. The current release is V7.2.1, published in August 2026. It is open source under AGPL v3 and ships with tuned profiles for every Creality FDM machine.
Slicing is a mandatory step in additive manufacturing, and there is no shortage of slicing software to choose from. Creality launched Creality Print in January 2022 to cover that step for its own hardware, and it now ships as the default across the Creality printer range, from the Ender series through to the K-series and SPARKX machines.
Creality was founded in Shenzhen in 2014 and is one of the best-known names in consumer FDM 3D printing, largely on the strength of low-cost machines like the Ender 3. Creality Print follows the same positioning: free, approachable enough for a first print, and tuned out of the box for Creality hardware.
Creality Print Functionalities
Creality Print organizes the job into three tabs: Prepare, Preview and Device. You import a model and set filament type and print quality, slice and inspect the result, then connect to the printer by scanning a QR code or entering its IP address. Models can be pulled straight from Creality Cloud without leaving the slicer.
Tree supports use less material and break away more cleanly on steep overhangs, and retraction settings combine print head adjustment, retraction distance, Z-hop and speed to limit stringing. An auto-arrange tool packs multiple objects onto the bed, and the Preview tab shows the G-code layer by layer so you can check for problems before committing filament to the print.
The 5.0 rewrite brought across OrcaSlicer’s calibration suite, which is where Creality Print pulled ahead of the software it replaced. Built-in tests cover flow rate, pressure advance and retraction, so tuning a new filament is guided rather than trial and error. The K-series and V3 machines ship with more than 42 official Creality filament profiles, each tuned for temperature, speed and retraction.
The Slicer’s Compatibilities
When you launch Creality Print for the first time, you will be asked to select your printer so the software loads the right build volume, nozzle diameter and firmware settings. Machine profiles cover the current Creality range, from the Ender series through the CR, K1, K2, Hi and SPARKX machines. Printers from other brands are not supported by default and require a profile built manually, which usually gives less optimized results than a general-purpose slicer would.
Creality Print imports STL, OBJ, STEP and STP files, and opens 3MF and CXPRJ project files. It runs on Windows and macOS, with a Linux build available from Creality’s download page. The software is free to download from Creality’s official download page, and because it is open source under AGPL v3, the source code is published on GitHub.

What is the difference between Creality Print and Creality Slicer?
They are built on different codebases. Creality Slicer is the older, legacy product and was a fork of UltiMaker Cura. Creality Print replaced it, and from version 5.0 onward has been built on OrcaSlicer instead. If you have used OrcaSlicer or Bambu Studio, the current Creality Print interface will feel familiar. Comparisons to Cura only apply to the old Creality Slicer, not to the software Creality ships today.
Is Creality Print a good slicer?
For Creality machines, it is the path of least resistance. Machine profiles load automatically, and the K-series and V3 printers ship with more than 42 official Creality filament profiles tuned for temperature, speed and retraction. The OrcaSlicer base also brings a calibration suite covering flow rate, pressure advance and retraction, so tuning a new filament is guided rather than trial and error. Users running a mixed-brand workshop may still prefer OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer, which support more manufacturers out of the box.
Does Creality Print work with non-Creality printers?
Not by default. Creality Print covers Creality’s own range, including the Ender, CR, K1, K2, Hi and SPARKX series, and loads the correct build volume, nozzle diameter and firmware settings automatically. Adding a printer from another brand means building a machine profile manually and entering those values yourself, which usually gives less optimized results than a general-purpose slicer would.
How do I add a pause in Creality Print?
Slice your model, open the Preview tab, then drag the vertical layer slider to the layer where the print should stop. Right-click the marker on the slider and select Add Pause. This is how most users change filament color mid-print or embed a magnet or nut in a recess.
Can I upgrade a Creality K1 to multi-color printing?
Yes. Creality sells a K1 Series CFS Upgrade Accessory Kit that connects the printer to the Creality Filament System (CFS). It fits the K1, K1C, K1 SE and K1 Max, though not the 2025 revisions of the K1C and K1 Max, and it requires an integrated nozzle hotend rather than a split-type one. Each CFS unit holds four spools, and up to four units can be chained for 16 colors. Two trade-offs are worth knowing beforehand: the top cover no longer closes, and the print area shrinks by 5 mm on the Y axis.
