3D Systems Expands the Potential of SLA with the New SLA 825 Dual

In 1987, 3D Systems introduced the world’s first commercial stereolithography (SLA) 3D printer, laying out the groundwork for one of the most precise and widely used additive manufacturing technologies today. Nearly four decades later, the company continues to shape the field it pioneered. Its latest innovation, the SLA 825 Dual, is designed to take large-scale SLA production to the next level, offering speed, scale, and accuracy in one powerful system.

With a build volume of 830 x 830 x 550 mm, the SLA 825 Dual caters to manufacturers who need high throughput without compromising precision. It offers the user complex parts with a faster turnaround and reduced labor costs. Discover the SLA 825 Dual features below, and visit 3D Systems at Hall 11.1, D11 at Formnext 2025

Precision and Productivity for Demanding Industries

The SLA 825 Dual is built for industries where accuracy and surface finish are non-negotiable. Foundries, aerospace and defense firms, automotive and motorsport companies, and service bureaus all stand to benefit from the system’s combination of capacity and consistency.

Typical applications range from full-scale wind tunnel models and investment casting patterns to aesthetic design verification and functional prototypes. It also supports low-volume production of general manufacturing and consumer goods, as well as mandrel tooling.

To deliver these results, the printer uses dual 4W lasers powered by 3D Systems’ proprietary HyperScan Technology, achieving a 100 μm layer resolution and a feature size down to 0.127 mm (0.005 in) in XY. These features allow manufacturers to achieve the fine details and surface quality SLA is known for, even at large scales.

Versatile Material Compatibility and Post-Processing Solutions

The SLA 825 Dual supports the Accura AMX family of production-grade resins, available in a range of colors and mechanical properties. It also accommodates specialized materials such as QuickCast® resins for investment casting, wind tunnel F1 formulations, and general-purpose photopolymers, allowing users to tailor their process to specific application needs.

To ensure printed parts reach their full mechanical and dimensional potential, 3D Systems also offers dedicated post-processing solutions. The PostCure 1050 is optimized for large parts from the SLA 825 Dual, delivering uniform and efficient curing even at the biggest build sizes. For smaller or mixed workflows, the Cure 400 offers a compact, versatile alternative.

Streamlined Workflow with 3D Sprint® Software

Beyond the hardware, the SLA 825 Dual integrates seamlessly with 3D Systems’ 3D Sprint® software, a single, comprehensive platform for file preparation, optimization, and printer management.

With 3D Sprint®, users can go from CAD to print without switching between multiple programs. The software’s tools for CAD optimization, data management, and printer monitoring help minimize downtime and streamline production. Its intuitive interface is designed to maximize productivity, ensuring that operators can focus on output rather than troubleshooting.

The user interface is designed to maximize productivity

The SLA 825 Dual represents 3D Systems’ continued evolution of SLA technology. combining scale, precision, and reliability to meet the needs of advanced manufacturing. For industries pushing the limits of design and production, it signals that the next generation of stereolithography has arrived. To learn more about the SLA 825 Dual, click HERE, and be sure to visit 3D Systems at Formnext
