The SLM 500, a high-performance machine

The Selective Laser Melting, SLM 500  machine provides a large build envelope of 500 x 280 x 365 mm and uses the manufacturer's patented multi-beam technology. In this high-performance machine, four fiber lasers (4x 400W or 4x 700W) are in action simultaneously, increasing the build-up rate by up to 90 % compared with the twin configuration (2x 400W or 2x 700W). 

The SLM 500’s patented closed-loop transport of metal powder increases operator safety and eliminates time-consuming manual fills and powder handling. Cooling and removal of excess powder takes place inside the part removal station (PRS), so that the next build process can begin immediately.
