Nello specifico sta costruendo presso le sue sedi californiane il WGS-11+: l&#8217;undicesimo satellite della costellazione WGS. Il progetto, realizzato in collaborazione con l&#8217;esercito statunitense, ha lo scopo di aumentare le capacit\u00e0 comunicative delle forze americane, migliorando la protezione da interferenze e criticit\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Grazie a questa tecnologia, lo specialista dell&#8217;aviazione spera di ridurre drasticamente i tempi di produzione e mira a consegnare il satellite entro il 2024. Troy Dawson, vicepresidente di Boeing Government Satellite Systems, afferma:\u00a0<em>&#8220;Stiamo stampando pi\u00f9 di mille componenti per il WGS-11+, il che ci ha fornito la possibilit\u00e0 d&#8217;introdurre l&#8217;elemento della personalizzazione (in modo da migliorare le prestazioni del sistema) senza bisogno di lunghi tempi d&#8217;integrazione o di strumenti personalizzati. Siamo coscienti di quanto sia importante la velocit\u00e0 per questa missione. Questa velocit\u00e0 produttiva si traduce in efficacia contro le minacce. Sostengono di aver sfruttato i vantaggi della stampa per accelerare lo sviluppo del satellite e ottimizzare le sue prestazioni. Fra i componenti stampati in 3D che compongono il WGS-11+ troviamo anche i sistemi d&#8217;isolamento e controllo termico.
