Rimuoverlo dal greggio \u00e8 obbligatorio per legge ambientale, ma il suo sbocco principale, la produzione di acido solforico, \u00e8 ormai saturo e non basta pi\u00f9 ad assorbire tutta l&#8217;offerta. Solo nel 2024 la produzione mondiale ha raggiunto gli 85 milioni di tonnellate, secondo lo US Geological Survey. Un team di KRICT, dell&#8217;Universit\u00e0 Hanyang e dell&#8217;Universit\u00e0 Sejong, in Corea del Sud, ha trovato una soluzione: convertirlo in un polimero adatto alla <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/progetti-stampa-4d-110720249\/\">stampa 4D<\/a> con cui fabbricare robot morbidi in grado di muoversi e afferrare oggetti.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il materiale, denominato PSN, \u00e8 una rete di poli(fenilene polisolfuro) che fino a oggi risultava difficile da stampare in 3D: la sua struttura interna era troppo intrecciata per scorrere correttamente attraverso un estrusore. Il team \u00e8 riuscito a distendere questa rete quanto bastava per stampare geometrie complesse senza comprometterne le propriet\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-86348 size-medium aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/4D-Printing-PSN-600x343.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"343\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il risultato \u00e8 una struttura a memoria di forma capace di reagire al calore o alla luce, senza bisogno di motori, cablaggi o alimentazione elettrica esterna. Aggiungendo il 20% di polvere di ferro, i ricercatori hanno ottenuto una versione magnetica del materiale, con cui hanno costruito robot di dimensioni inferiori al centimetro che rispondono a un campo magnetico esterno. Questi micro-robot sono in grado di superare ostacoli, depositare un carico in un punto preciso o rilasciare un catalizzatore per innescare una reazione chimica.<\/p><div class=\"dnati-inside-article dnati-entity-placement\" style=\"text-align: center;\" id=\"dnati-632831291\"><div id=\"dnati-2357013680\"><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/concorso-del-3dnatives-lab-vinci-una-stampante-3d\/?utm_source=website&#038;utm_medium=banner&#038;utm_campaign=flashforge_adventurer5mpro&#038;lang=it\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"LB (IT)\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2026\/06\/LB-IT-1.gif\" alt=\"\"  width=\"850\" height=\"150\"   \/><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Uno degli aspetti pi\u00f9 interessanti dello studio \u00e8 il sistema di assemblaggio: applicando un laser a infrarossi vicini per otto secondi, \u00e8 possibile saldare due pezzi stampati senza ricorrere ad adesivi, poich\u00e9 il calore spezza e riconnette i legami interni del polimero. Inoltre, quando un pezzo ha esaurito la propria funzione, pu\u00f2 essere fuso e ristampato da zero, in un sistema chiuso che si ricicla di continuo senza generare rifiuti aggiuntivi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dong-Gyun Kim, uno dei responsabili del progetto, ha sottolineato che si tratta del primo caso documentato di riciclo di zolfo industriale in materiali robotici avanzati. Lo studio, pubblicato su Advanced Materials nel novembre 2025, risolve, allo stesso tempo, due problemi: cosa fare di un residuo industriale accumulato e come fabbricare pezzi capaci di cambiare forma senza dipendere da elettronica o motori. Si tratta ancora di uno sviluppo di laboratorio, ma indica una direzione interessante per il futuro della stampa 4D.
