Si trattava del JPL Additive Compliant Canister (JACC), una dimostrazione tecnologica del Jet Propulsion Laboratory della NASA nell&#8217;ambito della <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/produzione-additiva\/\">produzione additiva<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il JACC \u00e8 un nuovo sistema a molla compatto, destinato a dispiegare con precisione le antenne degli orbiter, i veicoli spaziali posti in orbita attorno a un pianeta o una luna per studiarli dallo spazio. Utilizza tre volte meno componenti rispetto a strutture simili e integra in un unico pezzo una cerniera, un pannello, una molla di compressione e due molle di torsione. Questa molla si ispira direttamente alle antenne di comunicazione comunemente impiegate sui satelliti.<\/p>\n<h2>Caratteristiche principali del pezzo<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Materiale utilizzato: titanio<\/li>\n<li>Peso: 498 grammi<\/li>\n<li>Dimensioni dell&#8217;intero sistema: ~ 10 cm per lato<\/li>\n<li>Range di dispiegamento: da 3 cm (compresso) a 15 cm (altezza di dispiegamento totale)<\/li>\n<li>Tempo di sviluppo: meno di un anno<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il JACC \u00e8 stato interamente stampato in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/guida-stampa-3d-titanio-310120259\/\">titanio<\/a>, sfruttando l&#8217;elevato rapporto resistenza\/peso di questo metallo e la sua buona elasticit\u00e0. In un comunicato, il JPL ha dichiarato: &#8220;<em>Il successo del JACC dimostra che i meccanismi stampati in 3D possono essere fabbricati pi\u00f9 rapidamente, a costi inferiori e con minore complessit\u00e0 rispetto alle apparecchiature spaziali prodotte in modo tradizionale.<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il JACC non ha viaggiato da solo. Fa parte, infatti, dell&#8217;esperimento PANDORASBox, che comprende anche l&#8217;antenna dispiegabile SUM.
