Il team, guidato dal professor Shlomo Magdassi, \u00e8 riuscito mettere a punto un metodo innovativo basato sulla <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/stereolitografia-281020219\/\">stereolitografia<\/a> (SLA) e sulla chimica sol-gel, che permette di produrre oggetti in vetro di silice pura a temperature molto pi\u00f9 basse rispetto ai metodi tradizionali.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pubblicato sulla rivista <em data-start=\"849\" data-end=\"866\">Materials Today<\/em>, lo studio rappresenta un passo importante verso una produzione di componenti vetrosi pi\u00f9 pulita, efficiente e accessibile. Questi materiali organici devono poi essere eliminati tramite un lungo e costoso processo di \u201cdebinding\u201d ad alte temperature (oltre 1000 \u00b0C), con il rischio di crepe e deformazioni. Il nuovo processo messo a punto dai ricercatori israeliani elimina del tutto la necessit\u00e0 di tali componenti. Il metodo sfrutta invece un foto-generatore di base (<em>photo-base generator, <\/em>PBG) chiamato N-metil nifedipina, unito a un precursore principale tipico dei processi sol-gel, l&#8217;ortosilicato tetraedile (TEOS). Quando la miscela viene irradiata con luce UV (385\u2013405 nm), il PBG libera ioni OH\u207b che alzano localmente il pH del materiale, innescando una reazione chimica che attiva la trasformazione del liquido in un gel di silice. Si tratta quindi di una fotopolimerizzazione &#8220;inorganica&#8221;, perch\u00e9 \u00e8 la luce stessa a creare aree solide di gel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dopo la stampa, l&#8217;oggetto viene sottoposto a un post-processing con lavaggio in etanolo per rimuovere i residui del PBG. In seguito, viene eseguita un&#8217;essiccazione supercritica per evitare la formazione di crepe. Infine, il materiale cos\u00ec ottenuto trasforma il gel in silice mesoporosa e semi-trasparente grazie a una cottura di soli 250 \u00b0C, una temperatura sorprendentemente bassa se confrontata con i processi tradizionali per la lavorazione del vetro. Un risultato simile era stato gi\u00e0 ottenuto da una ricerca del <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/stampa-3d-vetro-temperatura-ambiente-010720259\/\">Lincoln Laboratory<\/a><\/span>, dove un approccio basato sulla<em> direct ink printing<\/em> aveva dimostrato le potenzialit\u00e0 della stampa 3D del vetro a temperature ridotte.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-20928 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/Overview-of-the-fabrication-proc-600x208.png\" alt=\"overview process\" width=\"600\" height=\"208\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/Overview-of-the-fabrication-proc-600x208.png 600w, https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/Overview-of-the-fabrication-proc-160x56.png 160w, https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/Overview-of-the-fabrication-proc.png 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1951\" data-end=\"1998\"><strong data-start=\"1954\" data-end=\"1998\">Una scoperta che apre nuove applicazioni<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le analisi chimiche hanno rivelato che, dopo il trattamento sotto vuoto, la composizione del materiale si avvicina a quella del vetro puro, con un rapporto tra silicio e ossigeno praticamente identico a quello della silice naturale. Inoltre, con questa tecnica diventa possibile incorporare materiali organici sensibili al calore (come coloranti fluorescenti) che restano intatti grazie alla bassa temperatura durante il processo di cottura.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">Secondo gli autori, il processo \u00e8 compatibile con <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">stampanti DLP\/SLA commerciali<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">, e consente di realizzare <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">oggetti in silice di dimensioni centimetriche<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">, caratterizzati da <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">bassa porosit\u00e0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">ritiro ridotto (circa il 25%)<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\"> e <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">buona trasparenza ottica<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">.<br class=\"yoast-text-mark\" \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">Come sottolinea il professor Shlomo Magdassi, \u201cquesta scoperta porta la lavorazione del vetro nel XXI secolo, rendendo la stampa 3D pi\u00f9 pulita, pi\u00f9 efficiente e aperta a nuove applicazioni\u201d.
