Lo schermo misura 3,8 cm per 3,8 cm e ha 64 pixel. Il progetto \u00e8 particolarmente interessante in quanto si tratta di uno schermo flessibile che potrebbe essere utilizzato per smartphone pieghevoli o schermi TV, il tutto ad un costo pi\u00f9 accessibile. Per produrlo sono state utilizzate due diverse <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/tecnologie-stampa-3d\/\">tecnologie<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/tecnologie-stampa-3d\/\"> di produzione additiva<\/a> e una stampante creata su misura.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I diodi organici ad emissione di luce si basano su materiali organici per emettere la luce &#8211; a differenza degli LCD che usano semiconduttori cristallini inorganici. Gli OLED sono quindi un&#8217;alternativa agli LCD e hanno diverse caratteristiche interessanti come una migliore efficienza energetica in quanto non richiedono la retroilluminazione, un elevato rapporto di contrasto, flessibilit\u00e0 meccanica, un angolo di visione pi\u00f9 ampio e una migliore resistenza alla rottura.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_68215\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-68215\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-68215\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/OLED_technology-600x209.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"209\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-68215\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sono stati utilizzati la tecnologia ad estrusione e lo <em>sputtering<\/em> (crediti: McAlpine Group, University of Minnesota)<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La stampa 3D di questo tipo di display ha sempre rappresentato una sfida. La tecnologia dei display OLED, infatti, si basa sulla conversione dell&#8217;elettricit\u00e0 in luce di uno strato di materiale organico. Creare questo strato \u00e8 difficile perch\u00e9 richiede una perfetta uniformit\u00e0, che \u00e8 pi\u00f9 compelsso ottenere attraverso la produzione additiva. Inoltre, i legami polimero-metallo sono pi\u00f9 instabili nella stampa 3D.<\/p><div class=\"dnati-inside-article dnati-entity-placement\" style=\"text-align: center;\" id=\"dnati-1928151071\"><div id=\"dnati-1615797190\"><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/concorso-del-3dnatives-lab-vinci-una-stampante-3d\/?utm_source=website&#038;utm_medium=banner&#038;utm_campaign=flashforge_adventurer5mpro&#038;lang=it\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"LB (IT)\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2026\/06\/LB-IT-1.gif\" alt=\"\"  width=\"850\" height=\"150\"   \/><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sei strati stampati in 3D per formare lo schermo OLED<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il team ha usato due tecnologie di stampa 3D per superare questa sfida e creare i sei strati dello schermo. Utilizzando una stampante ad estrusione, hanno prodotto gli elettrodi, l&#8217;isolamento, le interconnessioni e l&#8217;incapsulamento. La stessa stampante 3D \u00e8 stata poi utilizzata per creare gli strati attivi attraverso un processo di polverizzazione catodica (<em>sputtering <\/em>in inglese). In particolare, gli strati sono stati stampati uno dopo l&#8217;altro con vari materiali a seconda della loro funzione. Per esempio, il primo strato \u00e8 stato depositato su una pellicola flessibile in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/it\/plastiche-stampa-3d-090920219\/\">PET<\/a> ed \u00e8 formato da un inchiostro di nanoparticelle d&#8217;argento; il quarto strato \u00e8 fatto di silicone poich\u00e9 copre i materiali conduttivi sottostanti. Infine, il dispositivo \u00e8 stato incapsulato con un polimero colato in uno stampo in silicone, stampato per estrusione.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_68217\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-68217\" class=\"wp-image-68217 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/OLED_couches-600x343.jpg\" alt=\"display stampa 3d\" width=\"600\" height=\"343\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-68217\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Il display \u00e8 composto da sei strati diversi (crediti: McAlpine Group, University of Minnesota)<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il team spiega: &#8220;<em>Abbiamo usato un metodo di stampa 3D a spray per depositare MDMO-PPV, un polimero semiconduttore, per migliorare l&#8217;uniformit\u00e0 degli strati attivi. L&#8217;ugello a spray \u00e8 stato integrato nel nostro sistema di stampa: l&#8217;inchiostro \u00e8 atomizzato al livello dell&#8217;orifizio quando si crea un&#8217;alta velocit\u00e0 relativa tra l&#8217;inchiostro quasi statico e il gas pressurizzato. Le goccioline atomizzate hanno un diametro di 30-50 \u03bcm ed evaporano rapidamente dopo aver colpito il substrato<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I ricercatori sottolineano che la macchina utilizzata \u00e8 stata sviluppata su misura e quindi comprende diversi ugelli da cambiare a seconda dello strato da depositare. Il costo dell&#8217;operazione? La macchina costerebbe circa quanto una Tesla Model S. In ogni caso, il metodo di stampa dovrebbe svilupparsi e diventare pi\u00f9 diffuso, secondo Michael McAlpine, professore presso il dipartimento di ingegneria meccanica dell&#8217;Universit\u00e0 del Minnesota: &#8220;<em>Il vantaggio della nostra ricerca \u00e8 che non stiamo parlando di qualcosa da produrre nel futuro, tra 20 anni.
