A few weeks ago, researcher N\u00e9stor F. Marqu\u00e9s, with the help of the company BQ and 3D printing, managed to recreate some historical pieces of the Vila Museu, in Alicante. With this development, anyone can touch and identify historical pieces of ancient civilisations. Something truly useful for people with visual difficulties.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">It is not the first time we have heard that 3D printing has brought art closer to visually disabled people. A few years ago the Prado Museum in Madrid, organised its &#8220;Today Toca Prado&#8221; day. Here some of the main works of the museum were reproduced to help blind people to discover them. An initiative that together with others are part of our selection of\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/3d-prostheses-100420184\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">3D printing applications for people with disabilities.<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Following these examples <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/3d-printing-directory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">the Spanish company BQ<\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> collaborated with the Vila Museu. As well as with the researcher\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nestormarques.com\/vilamuseu-virtualizacion-impresion-3d-accesibilidad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">N\u00e9stor F. Marqu\u00e9s<\/a>\u00a0Specialised in Virtual Heritage and Cultural Divulgation<\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">. Thus, they developed two exhibitions. One permanent and one temporary called &#8220;Slaves of beauty&#8221;, which shows how the Greeks, Iberians, Phoenicians and Romans once dressed.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">N\u00e9stor used one of the most outstanding 3D printers of the Spanish brand, his <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/es\/test-witbox-2-bq-240620172\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Witbox 2<\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">. Thus, he managed to manufacture pieces such as a Greek terracotta head enlarged 10 times. Allowing for people to appreciate the details of the original work. A bronze head of Marco Aurelio, coming from the Capitoline Museums of Rome. And his main work, the head of the Lady Bidder of the Hill of Saints, of the National Archaeological Museum. Right piece printed in 3D and final piece<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">One month of work, 400 hours of printing and 21 pieces only were necessary<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u00a0for the development of the Offeror Lady, a work carried out by N\u00e9stor Marqu\u00e9s and Javier Sanz. Thanks to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/3D-compare?%2Bslug=&amp;--prix_e=&amp;-%2Bprix_e=&amp;--l_max_impression=&amp;--w_max_impression=&amp;--h_max_impression=&amp;-%2Bepaisseur_min_impression=&amp;technologie=&amp;fabricant_id=82\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">BQ&#8217;s 3D printer<\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">, and the outstanding work of the museum&#8217;s members, a surprising realism of the work has been achieved. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Finally, on May 31, the 3D printed pieces saw the light and joined the museum&#8217;s collections. Within the first days of its opening specialists of the ONCE (Organizaci\u00f3n Nacional de Ciegos Espa\u00f1oles &#8211; Organisation of the Spanish Blind) visited the exhibitions.\u00a0N\u00e9stor proudly explained &#8220;<em>for them it has been something wonderful: the power to have those pieces in their hands, to feel something that they could never imagine<\/em>&#8220;.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_35934\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35934\" class=\"wp-image-35934 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/article_BQHistory3.jpg\" alt=\"BQ and 3D printing\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-35934\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Long-term temporary exhibition: &#8220;Slaves of beauty&#8221;<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">From this development more Spanish museums have followed the proposal. The Museum of History of Manacor (Palma de Mallorca) exhibits 3D printed pieces such as prehistoric pots or Roman lamps. In addition to this, they encourage visitors to cover their eyes to discover the figures from another perspective.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The approach of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/top-10-3d-printing-art-141020174\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">art with 3D printing<\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> is increasingly adopted by different art centers, and opens the opportunity for all of us to explore our history.
