There are multiple applications of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/top-10-3d-printing-space\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">3D printing for arrival in space<\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">, but there is one that has stood out in recently: the Zero Gravity bioprinter, is capable of developing living tissue in zero gravity.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The idea of \u200b\u200bprinting in space without gravity came with the US company Made in Space and NASA, which succeeded in 2014. A couple of years ago the companies Techshot and nScrypt came together to print a 3D human heart to gravity zero. Showing that <\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">bioprinting is much more effective and controlled under these conditions or outside the Earth. <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">It is very likely that the first functional organ printed in 3D is obtained outside of our planet.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tAzcB_3dVzE\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p><div class=\"dnati-inside-article-leaderboard\" style=\"text-align: center;\" id=\"dnati-1695634887\"><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/us06web.zoom.us\/webinar\/register\/3717757396787\/WN_sBfwcCHoQSq1mEANYpWa6Q\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"LB (3)\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/04\/LB-3.gif\" alt=\"\"  width=\"850\" height=\"150\"   \/><\/a><\/div>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The Zero Gravity bioprinter could make the first functional organ in 3D <\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">After the first success, the American companies nScrypt and Techshot began the development of the 3D BioFabrication Facility, or BFF, a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/future-3d-bioprinting1805201741\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">bioprinting system<\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> for the International Space Station. Its technique allows 3D printing of thick tissue and organs using adult stem cells. The manufacturing is done through the Zero Gravity bioprinter also called Bio Assembly, or BAT and the biotintas will be used in the cell culture bioreactor that is conditioned by the Advanced Space Experiment Processor TechShot (ADSEP). <\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The BFF and the ADSEP technique hope to launch on the Space Station in 2019.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The BAT bioprinter has very precise movements and control of extreme dispensation, will use SmartPump, patented nScrypt technique, which has a volumetric control of 100 picolitres and will use superfine nozzles of up to 10 microns for the extrusion of biomaterials.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_35005\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35005\" class=\"wp-image-35005 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/Article_ZGbioprinter2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-35005\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Rendering of BFF technology by nScrypt<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">&#8220;Especially when it comes to something as important as weaving, it&#8217;s vital to put the right amount of material in the right position every time,&#8221; said nScrypt CEO Ken Church. &#8220;This is what our machines offer and what has contributed to our success in bioprinting, as well as in other applications.&#8221; This is an exciting time for discovery and, most importantly, a moment of impact for those seeking Serious solutions to develop thick vascularized tissue, which is the basis of a fully printed organ. &#8220;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_35006\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35006\" class=\"size-full wp-image-35006\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/Article_ZGbioprinter3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-35006\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">It is expected to begin with bioprinting of cardiac tissue patches (photograph University of Wisconsin)<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The first thing they <\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">hope to achieve with the Zero Gravity bioprinter will be a cardiac patch<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , for the recovery of hearts. The cells will be printed in the bioreactor, and the bioreactor will provide perfusion of the media to release nutrients and remove toxins from the tissue, keeping it alive while providing electrical and mechanical stimuli to encourage cells to beat.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">&#8220;We are very excited to see this project, and everything it can provide and come to life,&#8221; said <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.techshot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Techshot<\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> President and CEO John C.
