Over the course of the three-day trade show, we were able to see firsthand five systems that, each in their own way, are redefining what it means to print with multiple materials simultaneously.

The range of multi-material solutions is vast. At the show, we found brands that didn’t exist just 18 months ago, as well as systems with 12 active nozzles operating simultaneously. The WonderMaker ZR Ultra, for example, competes directly on price with the industry giants. It features a fully enclosed tool changer, four independent print heads, a heated chamber reaching 60°C, and speeds of up to 600 mm/s—all for under $1,000. For its part, LDO Motors proposed something radically different with its StealthChanger for the VORON V2.4. An open-source conversion system designed for those who want to build, configure, and master their machine with complete freedom.

We also visited Flashforge, which was showcasing the Creator 5 Pro with its four-head FlashSwap system and heated chamber, available at a special pre-sale price of $649. But perhaps the most disruptive offerings come from AtomForm and Infinite Maker. The former introduced its Palette 300, a machine with 12 nozzles that are always active and require no purging, capable of combining up to 36 colors and 12 different materials in a single print. As for Infinite Maker, it has unveiled the Infinite 4, a continuous filament printer with four independent print heads that can combine carbon fiber, Kevlar, and fiberglass in the same part, along with flexible materials and soluble supports. These are undoubtedly game-changing innovations for many manufacturers.
