The S-Works Power EVO with Mirror is an upgraded version of the brand’s well-known Power series. Designed for riders who shift their weight and adopt aggressive positions, it is intended to be the most comfortable saddle Specialized has ever created. But how does it differ from the brand’s other models?

Specialized is among the bike manufacturers that have embraced 3D printing as a production method. This includes saddles made using its in-house Mirror process, which creates varying thicknesses in the seat to reduce pressure on the sit bones. After gathering rider feedback and undergoing a long development process, the company has launched a new version of one of its most popular models, once again relying on 3D printing to deliver an improved riding experience.

Specialized’s new S-Works Power EVO with Mirror

The technology behind the S-Works Power EVO

With the S-Works Power EVO featuring Mirror technology, Specialized once again proves that 3D printing can be a major asset in designing high-end cycling components. This latest version of the iconic model significantly improves pressure distribution on key areas of the saddle, particularly the nose and the sections supporting the sit bones.

One of the main upgrades in this model is the evolution of the Mirror technology itself. This 3D printing process creates a customized, variable-density structure. In total, the saddle incorporates 47,000 adaptive support cells and 21,000 structural intersections, specifically designed to absorb pressure. The result is a 28.8% reduction in pressure on the sit bones and an 18% reduction in the perineal area compared to the previous version.

The saddle’s performance has already been tested in top-level competition. Belgian Olympic medalist Remco Evenepoel used it last April to win the Brabantse Pijl. He noted that, “The Power EVO lets me move on the saddle and go full gas longer.” Referencing his comeback into the competitive cycling game he said, “I really liked the original Power, but the EVO is so exceptional that it has replaced it,” crediting it for his first comeback race win.

The S-Works Power EVO saddle allows for versatile movement, with complete comfort.

The S-Works Power EVO is a saddle designed for cyclists who adopt aggressive positions, involving constant shifts of weight forward and back. To meet these demands, it has been almost entirely redesigned. The nose has been widened by one centimeter, the rear curvature has been softened to prevent compression, and a new central opening, called the “Invisible Cutout,” provides greater freedom of movement without compromising support, no matter the rider’s position. In addition, the front of the saddle incorporates more areas using Mirror technology, reducing pressure on the nose and allowing riders to stay positioned there for longer. According to Specialized, this improvement cuts nose pressure by 34.1% compared to traditional foam saddles.

The rest of the saddle has also been upgraded. Its internal carbon structure keeps it extremely light (212 g for the 130 mm version), while the new rails, extended by 2 cm, offer a wider range of fore-aft adjustment. The saddle is now available on Specialized’s online store for €449 and comes in four different sizes.

What do you think of Specialized’s saddle?
