Its design is especially innovative, featuring a highly organic shape that breaks away from the traditional round or square watch faces typically seen on the market. What makes it even more interesting is that it was partially created using additive manufacturing, specifically through a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/3d-printing-highest-specific-strength-titanium-alloy-200920224\/\">titanium-based process<\/a>. Called STRACTRA, the watch was designed by Ayoub Ahmad and is currently a conceptual project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"549\" data-end=\"817\">This isn\u2019t the first 3D-printed watch to surface. It\u2019s definitely an unconventional way to tell time, and whether it\u2019s truly practical is up for debate. Still, the movement is housed in a 3D-printed titanium case, which is the centerpiece of STRACTRA.<\/p><div class=\"dnati-inside-article-leaderboard\" style=\"text-align: center;\" id=\"dnati-1908918917\"><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/app.swapcard.com\/login\/event\/additiv-defense-2026\/ticket\/VGlja2V0VHlwZV83MDM4MQ==\/page\/UmVnaXN0cmF0aW9uRm9ybV81NjE4Ng==\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"LB (4)\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/03\/LB-4.gif\" alt=\"\"  width=\"850\" height=\"150\"   \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1228\" data-end=\"1677\">The exact manufacturing process hasn\u2019t been specified, but given the nature of the project, it was likely made using laser powder bed fusion. The designer explains that additive manufacturing allowed him to create far more complex geometry and also made it easier to iterate during the prototyping phase. As a result, STRACTRA integrates an hour arc, a minute circle, and wraps it all in a hexagonal form that defines the overall shape of the watch.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1679\" data-end=\"2029\">Ayoub Ahmad explained, \u201c<em>STRACTRA reimagines timekeeping through a fusion of geometry, nature, and innovation. Grounded in simple geometric foundations, it evolves into an organic, branching form that feels grown, not made.
