Formnext might have closed its doors, but there is still plenty to see in the coming days. We at 3Dnatives will have more videos and additional content coming from the show to give both attendees and those who stayed at home the most breaking 3D printing news. This includes this video where our very own Elliot Saldukaite took a look at some of the most exciting things he saw at Formnext 2024.<\/p>\n
Starting at Photocentric’s booth, Elliot shines a light on the new Jeni system, a modular system able to autonomously produce parts. Essentially, parts can be printed, washing and cured in its nodes, allowing for final parts to be produced at the end of the cycle. A huge time saver, for example in dentistry, where Elliot notes that with this it would be possible to make up to 1.3 million dental arches in a year.<\/p>\n
Keeping with the trend of modular machines at Formnext 2024, the next exciting solution we saw is one such solution from Metrom. Although only a small example was available at the show, the company’s CNC machines can be fitted with a WAAM<\/a> head, an extrusion head or CNC milling tool for an all-in-one manufacturing solution. Further proof of the increased importance of hybrid manufacturing in the additive manufacturing sector.<\/p> Continuing on, Elliot showed an exciting, more affordable continuous fiber 3D printing<\/a> machine from the brand-new company CF SYS before moving to GrindSonic which is hoping to revolutionize quality control in AM. Last but not least, a stop by Carbon Cleaner showed us the continued importance of a circular economy in the industry with its recycled carbon fiber filled filaments.
