Over the years, we have seen a strong and growing demand for large-format <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/what-is-additive-manufacturing\/\">additive manufacturing<\/a> solutions in order to create bigger parts for sectors like maritime, aerospace and transportation, among others. And never has that been more evident than at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/lp\/formnext\/\">Formnext 2024<\/a>! For that reason, we decided to take a look at some of the big, innovative 3D printers that we found at the show.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">Starting with YIZUMI, we were impressed not only by the size of the robotic arm but also by the raised platform. Next, we learned more about Meltio&#8217;s latest solution, the Robot Cell, a metal additive manufacturing solution that boasts a working build volume of 1.2 m x 1.2 m. It also enables end-to-end production, making it great for places like machine shops.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pA9Iwnskw1M?si=WdnlPbvXPuUq3d9H\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/span><\/p><div class=\"dnati-inside-article-leaderboard\" style=\"text-align: center;\" id=\"dnati-1769184525\"><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/app.swapcard.com\/login\/event\/additiv-defense-2026\/ticket\/VGlja2V0VHlwZV83MDM4MQ==\/page\/UmVnaXN0cmF0aW9uRm9ybV81NjE4Ng==\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"LB\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/03\/LB.gif\" alt=\"\"  width=\"850\" height=\"150\"   \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">Following that, we stopped by a solution that, while maybe not the biggest at the show, was certainly one of the largest we have seen for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/stereolithography-explained100420174\/\">stereolithography<\/a>. The wide solution from DWS uses the company&#8217;s patented Smart Coating stereolithography to print fast and precise parts. Not only that, but three overlapping lasers ensure that printing is at least 30% faster.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Next up, a solution from FANUM allows for XXL 3D printing combined with 5-axis machining and a printing head that can deposit up to 200kg in an hour. Last but not least, we stopped by KraussMaffei to look at the company&#8217;s impressive solution which is not just big, but integrates a heated build plate and a dedicated drying system to ensure that the pellets will never be too moist.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Which of these big 3D printers from Formnext 2024 is your favorite?
