It has already been one week since the first-ever edition of ADDITIV Design World took place. The half-day virtual event was dedicated to Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM), and was put on with the help of our sponsor Evolve Additive Solutions, and partners SPE, Plastics Engineering, IAM3DHUB, AMGTA, Wevolver, 3DPrint.com, VoxelMatters, Design Wanted and Design for AM Network!<\/p>\n

Over the course of four hours, attendees were able to gain access to workshops and panel discussions centering on different topics in design for 3D printing. <\/span>The topics discussed also included panel discussions on design freedom, the use of DfAM to increase the performance of a part, and the future of design in additive manufacturing. In the workshops, presentations on converting a concept design into a manufacturable product, designing lathe chuck jaws for additive manufacturing, and improving safety in heavy electric vehicles through AM,<\/span> allowed users to expand their knowledge of best practices and rules that must be taken into consideration when creating a part using additive manufacturing.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the end, the panels and workshops were highly appreciated by attendees, with 55% of them giving the experience five out of five stars. Besides, the speakers were a highlight for the participants, with 83% giving them at least 4 stars. Overall, in any case, satisfaction was high with over 80% noting they would be interested in attending a future ADDITIV event. Over 90% also mentioned that they had no issues with audio or visual quality or minor issues, allowing them to have a general positive experience.<\/p>

The more than 800 registrants came from many different sectors including the 3D printing industry, aerospace<\/a>, design, education, and automotive<\/a> being the principal.<\/span><\/p>\n
