When it comes to adoption of additive manufacturing<\/a>, it goes without saying that 3D printing service providers are truly the unsung heroes of our industry. Service bureaus are exceptional because in additional to often selling AM solutions, they are also able to create parts for clients using a variety of different 3D technologies. Not only that, but they are also known for training and education as well, with those in countries still new to the technologies taking an especially important role. Indeed, they are so critical that the 3D printing service bureau market was valued at an estimated $7.8B worldwide in 2022 according to Persistence Market Research. And increasingly we are seeing more and more service providers who are pushing the boundaries of what they do in the wider additive manufacturing ecosystem. Such is the case for Bulgarian company 3DBGPRINT.<\/span><\/p>\n

We have previously told you about 3DBGPRINT<\/a>. The company was founded in 2013 and set itself the goal of <\/span>\u201cinforming, educating and giving access to 3D printing technologies\u201d<\/span><\/i> as the first company to introduce additive manufacturing to the Bulgarian market. The team explains, <\/span>\u201cOur mission is to assist<\/span><\/i> Bulgarian companies as well as others in the region to develop new products and to solve production related issues. We do this through quick introduction of new technologies in the field like 3D printing, development of new products and shortening the delivery period for details which are important to the industry.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Safe to say they have been incredibly successful. In 2023, the company offers everything from 3D printer sales to trainings, installation and maintenance of said printers. Not only that, but in order to supply parts for customers they have more than 40 FDM printers (including large-format solutions) and three SLS printers of various sizes allowing for speed and cost-efficiency. Now, they are pushing even further with a number of upcoming projects including those centered on interesting applications as well as the development of a new filamen<\/span>t.<\/span><\/p>

Exciting New Projects from 3DBGPRINT<\/h3>\n

As mentioned above, the first exciting project from the company is that in addition to the materials, printers and accessories that they already sell, they are also developing their own filament. This brand is expected to be offered from December. This move shows not only the success of the company, but also the faith that its customers put in its quality and name.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But of course, while 3DBGPRINT is expanding its offering through this new material, that does not mean it will move away from its base. In fact, the company has a number of other exciting projects in the works centering on applications for a variety of clients. This includes the creation of 3D printed torsos for the fashion industry. As everyone knows, customization is the key to fashion as each piece of clothing must be fitted directly to the person. Thus, 3DBGPRINT is working with a partner in the sector to create these torsos for specific costumers and sewing services.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another application comes through a partnership with another Bulgarian business, Skink. This company works in the production of training products in the field of micropigmentation and SMP (scalp micropigmentation). For those who may not be aware, scalp micropigmentation is a procedure similar to microblading for full brows. The difference is that rather than being done with a manual blade, micropigmentation is performed using an electric tattoo device that is able to penetrate powder into your scalp and give the illusion of fuller hair. A must for those who may be suffering from hair loss.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of this process, 3DBGPRINT was given the task of large-scale production of 3D printed tutorial materials for practical exercises in micropigmentation and SMP. These essentially were made up of a base of 3D printed anatomical heads covered with a layer on which trainees were able to work with needles and pigment. Thus giving them the skills necessary for this procedure without added risk to any patients as well as showing the continued prominence of 3D printing in Bulgaria at large.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
