More recently, everyone from fashion designers to artists have employed 3D printing to make unique pieces with a wow factor, surpassing the need to conform to conventional methods of fabrication. A recent example from Texas is the Sunday Homes project, a planned 3D printed refabrication of the El Cosmico hotel based in Marfa in the high plains desert of the county.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Liz Lambert, hospitality expert, will collaborate with Texas-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/nasa-has-awarded-icon-57-2m-to-develop-3d-printed-construction-on-the-moon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICON<\/a> (known for their advanced 3D printing construction projects) and architecture group BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) to prepare the project. Also involved are home construction firm Lennar. The collaboration will relocate the hotel to a venue of 62 acres, incorporating 3D printing to make domes, vaults, and homes. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In its current state, the hotel is an offbeat venue which sells itself as \u2018an exodus from a world of urgency\u2019. Set in the high plains desert, the new design for the relocation is informed by this landscape\u2019s fusion with the sky, with features such as skylights built into the 3D-printed walls. Indeed, other ventures to produce homes using this method are present all over the world, from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/building-for-humanity-affordable-3d-printed-homes-111020226\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UK<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/habitat-for-humanity-3d-printed-home-arizona-140620215\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA<\/a>, to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/14-trees-3d-printed-houses-kenya-10-weeks-21022023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kenya<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/south-africa-opts-for-3d-printing-to-combat-housing-shortage-110320225\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">South Africa<\/a>.
