Now we have yet another exciting announcement from the company. Next week, Anycubic will be launching the latest printer in the range, the Kobra Plus, which will be sized between the other two solutions. We took a closer look at what you will be able to expect from the new printer and how it compares to the other Kobra 3D printers.

As you might expect, the Kobra Plus shares a number of exciting features with the Kobra and Kobra Max. One that is notable is the inclusion of what Anycubic claims is its most advanced automatic levelling technology, Anycubic LeviQ. This was one of the key benefits of the Kobra line when it was launched and it is exciting to see that it is also available as part of the Kobra Plus.

The Anycubic Kobra Plus (photo credits: Anycubic)

Essentially, the Anycubic LeviQ Automatic Leveling Technology consists of a sensor that measures the distance between the probe and the platform in 25 points (5×5 grid). These data can then be used to create a digital mesh allowing the printer to use this information to compensate for an uneven platform. This way of calibrating is quite unique as many others measure only the print bed to compensate for its leveling. By measuring from the nozzle, you also ensure a precise z-height calibration, which means that the first layer will be laid down correctly. This of course is important because more precise levelling helps combat one of the major causes of print failures.

There are a few other notable features in the line that the Kobra Plus shares, including a high printing speed of 80 – 100mm/s, 77% faster than the Mega X which previously was one of the most popular FDM printers from Anycubic. This speed is thanks to 45w high power metal heating for fast melting out, 60000RPM dual fans for fast model cooling and of course double thread Z-axis for faster printing. Additionally, the Kobra range printers boast great adhesion thanks to a hotbed mad from Carborundum Glass and a lock down feature which enables easily removed parts.

Moving onto how it differs from the rest of the line. The main difference between the Kobra Plus and the other printers is that while it is smaller than the Kobra Max (40 x 40 x 45 cm), it is larger than the Kobra (22 x 22 x 25 cm) with a printing volume of 30 x 30 x 35 cm. This makes it an ideal model for those who need something that is cheaper than the Max but bigger than the regular model. Anycubic notes that “The Kobra Plus opens a new range of opportunities, satisfying all your 3D printing needs, without requiring investment in an excessively massive printer.” So, if the Kobra line intrigued you but the size was too large with the Max but too small with the Kobra, the Plus will be the best bet for you. The machine will launch on June 15th at 10:00AM EDT.
