ADDITIV Aerospace<\/a> is back! After the success of the event next year, ADDITIV Aerospace 2.0<\/a> will be taking place on April 26th, 2022 at 9:00AM – 5:30PM EDT (3:00 – 11:30 PM CEST)<\/strong>. Like last year, the conference will be broken up into panel discussions, webinars and networking sessions in order to learn and connect with AM and aerospace professionals in one incredible event. Since the beginning, <\/span>additive manufacturing<\/a> has been used in the the aerospace sector. In fact, the sector was one of the earliest adopters of the technology as it saw the advantages of lighter, more optimized parts. <\/span>In a report last year, Research and Market’s estimated that the revenue of AM in Aerospace was about $1.36 Billion USD<\/span> in 2020 and was anticipated to reach about<\/span> $7.08 Billion<\/span> USD <\/span>by 2028. This accounts for an estimated CAGR of 20.11% during the forecast period, 2020-2028. And we are already seeing its impact with organization like NASA and ESA continuously pushing for new projects using AM both on Earth and in space. For that reason, ADDITIV decided to launch this next edition of ADDITIV Aerospace to once again explore the importance of AM in Aerospace with experts from both fields present.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Can You Expect?<\/h3>\n

The full 8 and a half hours will consist 4 virtual networking session, 4 workshops and 5 panel discussions with speakers from NASA, Rolls Royce, ASTM International and more. This year, after the popularity of the workshops last year, we have decided to hold an additional workshop as well as increased their length from 15 minutes to 20. Through the workshops, attendees will be able to learn more about concrete applications of 3D printing in the aerospace sector with input from current users and experts in the fields.<\/p>

Meanwhile, in the panels, a variety of topics will be covered including but not limited to: the current status of AM certification in aviation; key applications of AM in space including rockets, satellites and more; the role of AM in helping the aerospace sector achieve sustainability; metals vs high-performance polymers in aerospace; and how AM is leading the way for interplanetary colonization. There will be more an emphasis on space in ADDITIV Aerospace 2.0, with two panels dedicated to the subject. More than ever, we have seen that additive manufacturing could be a viable in the sector. Its potential use especially when it comes to the possibility of space colonization was evident throughout 2021. Both NASA<\/a> and ESA<\/a> have devoted research and technology to see whether additive manufacturing could be used in zero gravity or even on planets as a way to minimize the amount of supplies that need to be sent from Earth to build homes and necessary parts on the ground, among other applications. The possibility of using regolith, loose rocks and soil found on planetary bodies like the moon and Mars, has been suggested by companies like Redwire<\/a> and ICON.
