On June 30th, BASF Forward AM will hold the final of the Forward AM Innovation Award contest, awarding one of the startups using Additive Manufacturing to develop sustainable and innovative products. During a 100% virtual event, the four finalists will pitch live in front of a jury who will then choose the winner. The winning startup will be awarded \u20ac80,000 worth of goods and services to choose from the sponsors’ catalog of offers. The participants of the event will also have a role to play as they will be able to vote for their favorite startup. In addition to these pitches, an opening conference and networking sessions will take place in order to show participants the full potential of 3D technologies today. The final will start at 5pm (UTC+2) and is freely accessible. Before the four finalists introduce their different concepts, Ultimaker co-founder Siert Wijnia will explain how the Dutch company has grown from a startup to a profitable business. The opening presentation, titled “The Blueprint for Scaling an Organization”, will highlight the necessary steps to successfully develop a business in the 3D printing industry. Ultimaker is one of the leading manufacturers of FDM 3D printers on the market.<\/p>\n

Live pitches and networking sessions<\/h3>\n

Cosm Medical, HILOS, SYOS and Wyve are the four finalists of this unique contest: each startup will have 10 minutes to present its innovative concept and the role 3D printing played in its development. The finalists will talk about the challenges they faced, the strengths of their concept, its viability, future plans, etc. After each pitch, the jury will be able to ask questions live, as will the audience: an opportunity to further understanding of the various applications as well as engage with the four startups.<\/p>

During the jury’s deliberation, participants will be able to take advantage of a virtual networking session to meet the finalists as well as the BASF Forward AM team, sponsors and partners. Attendees will have the opportunity to delve into topics such as diversity, resins in 3D printing, filaments, post-processing, design, etc. As a reminder, the Forward AM Innovation Award is supported by AMPOWER, AMT, Autodesk, HP, Photocentric, Sculpteo, Ultimaker and several partners such as AM Ventures, BASF Venture Capital GmbH, Deloitte and Women in 3D Printing.<\/p>\n

The winner will be announced at the end of the day, as well as the public’s favorite startup and the best in sustainability.
