<\/a>A few hours from the end of the campaign, the Obsidian campaign has already raised more than $1.45 million<\/p><\/div>\n
Kickstarter is already a renowned website for its ability to bring together creative projects to offer to those who are looking to back the latest in technology. It is therefore natural that we often see printers that are ready to democratize the market. Some examples can be seen with the Blackbelt 3D printer<\/a> or even Wiivv<\/a>, who broke the record as the most funded 3D printed product ever on Kickstarter.<\/p>\n Based in San Francisco, Kodama has found quite a success with their projects on Kickstarter, raising more than $1.6 million with their first financing campaign for the 3D Trinus printer. With their latest campaign coming to a close, their investment venture could prove to be their best campaign yet, a success that could be thanks to their pre-sale price of only $99 for the basic version of the printer.<\/p> After announcing that they are \u201cRaising the bar and lowering the price\u201d, the Kodama team has been working hard at doing just this, by simplifying their user experience, offering the Obsidian in at $99, in 3 different versions and in two colors: Black and white.<\/p>\n The Obsidian is available in 3 models and in 2 colors<\/p><\/div>\n The QuadRap metal frame of the printer offers a relatively small print volume of 120 x 120 x 120 mm, with overall dimensions of the machine being pretty identical in each version. The printing accuracy can vary from between 50 to 350 microns for a maximum speed of 70mm\/s and has an extrusion temperature of up to 250\u00b0 C. With its heated tray and optional protective cap, the Obsidian will be able to print in many materials: PLA, ABS, Nylon, PETG, PC, etc.<\/p>\n Obsidian Plus and the Obsidian Deluxe stand out particularly for their accessibility, features, and extensions. These features include an LCD screen, a slot for an SD card, a built in camera and the Kodama iOS and Android mobile app. On the Obsidian Deluxe, you will also find a heated bed.<\/p>\n Two influencers, Devin from the YouTube channel “Make Anything” and Joel Telling from “3D Printing Nerd” had the opportunity to test the beta versions of the Obsidian Plus and Deluxe. The two YouTubers were both happy with the printer\u2019s different features, such as resuming printing after shutting down the machine.
