This project is a collaboration between Denmark\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/gxn.3xn.com\/project\/freeing-3d-printers-crawl-swim-fly\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GXN Innovation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a subsidiary of 3XN, Dansk AM Hub and design studio, MAP Architects. Essentially, this initiative will look to study how autonomous 3D printers could offer a cheaper, better and faster way to respond to urban, social and environmental change. \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Freeing 3D printers to meet these challenges could be a revolution in the making<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u201d explained Kasper Jensen, Founder of GXN. \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By enabling 3D printers to crawl, swim and fly, we can address environmental threats at lower costs and with greater efficienc<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">y.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Autonomous 3D printing to change the future of construction<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This research project comprises different scenarios where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/3d-technologies\/\">additive manufacturing<\/a> could be the solution to global challenges. One major challenge is infrastructure. The objective would be to fix the decaying infrastructure in place, particularly for isolated road networks which suffer from small cracks, and fissures in the asphalt. Coastal conditions are crucial for many populations, affecting an estimated 600 million inhabitants globally. Many of the world\u2019s high-rise buildings are actually not ageing that well, which leads to a lot of energy waste.
