3D printing is quickly becoming the go to technology for many companies and manufacturers around that world. That\u2019s why it\u2019s no surprise to hear that the Germany\u00a0based company, Siemens has made an announcement at Hannover Messe 2017 of their plans to develop an interactive web-based platform that is designed to bring on demand product design and 3D printing production to global manufacturing.<\/p>\n

\u201cSiemens is one of the only companies addressing the diverse needs of all additive manufacturing market participants \u2013 from designers and engineers, to manufacturers, 3D printing machine OEMs, material vendors and software providers \u2013 with a comprehensive set of seamless technology solutions for distributed industrial additive manufacturing and co-innovation,\u201d Explained Tony Hemmelgarnd, the President and CEO of Siemens PLM Software.<\/p>\n

With the growing need of on-demand worldwide access to additive manufacturing technology, Siemens is hoping that their platform will \u201cCreate an online ecosystem\u201d that connects members within different sectors together to create an environment that can foster new co-innovations of products, increase productivity and accelerate additive manufacturing onto a new level of industrial use.<\/p>

Although the details of this part-manufacturing platform have yet to be released, they have given an expected launch date of mid- 2018. Until then, they have provided some different and exiting ways that they believe this program will help bring more innovation and ease to additive manufacturing. Some ways include finding qualified services quickly, reduction in obtaining your production quantities through enhanced job scheduling, expanding your business and much more.<\/p>\n
