launches ADAPT; A consortium dedicated to additive manufacturing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The American research institute MIT announced the creation of a consortium dedicated to additive manufacturing called ADAPT (for\u00a0<em>Additive and Digital Advanced Production Technologies<\/em>).\u00a0The goal of this business association is to identify visionary research, scalable education platforms and exploitable strategic perspectives based on a strong university-industry ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Additive manufacturing has become a key method for many actors, whether in the field of education or in industry as a whole.\u00a0Initiatives are multiplying to promote its use, through the organisation of consortia &#8211; as\u00a0Microsoft\u00a0had launched\u00a0three years earlier &#8211; but also through numerous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/3d-printing-in-education310720184\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">school and university courses<\/a>.\u00a0The goal is simple: to democratise the use of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/3d-technologies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3D technologies<\/a>\u00a0to propose more efficient manufacturing methods in terms of costs and time.\u00a0ADAPT&#8217;s goal is to create a community of key strategic players in the additive manufacturing market, with the goal of leveraging unique resources to develop industry-specific projects and research.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_41970\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<div id=\"attachment_41970\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-41970\" class=\"wp-image-41970 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/ADAPT_MIT.jpg\" alt=\"ADAPT\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-41970\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">MIT will be the seat of this new consortium<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>ADAPT; a community between academia and industry<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among the companies that founded this consortium are some big names in the industry such as Autodesk, Renishaw, EOS, Formlabs and Mimaki.\u00a0We also have large industrial groups like General Motors and Volkswagen involved.\u00a0Their contributions will be used to fund research projects on various additive manufacturing technologies and to conduct strategic analyses of current and future technology capabilities.<\/p><div class=\"dnati-inside-article-leaderboard\" style=\"text-align: center;\" id=\"dnati-4134302792\"><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/us06web.zoom.us\/webinar\/register\/3717757396787\/WN_sBfwcCHoQSq1mEANYpWa6Q\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"LB (3)\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/04\/LB-3.gif\" alt=\"\"  width=\"850\" height=\"150\"   \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Professor John Hart, who leads ADAPT, says; &#8220;<em>AM and the path toward a responsive, digital manufacturing infrastructure both within and between organizations \u2014 requires multidisciplinary expertise at the cutting edge of mechanical engineering, computer science, and materials,<\/em>&#8221; He continues: &#8220;<em>I am thrilled to launch ADAPT to accelerate MIT\u2019s efforts toward enabling the next generation of production technologies, wherein AM is a cornerstone.<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_41966\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<div companies behind ADAPT<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another important point of this consortium is the linking of MIT students with industry players.\u00a0A new advanced additive manufacturing laboratory will soon see the light of day at the technology institute, a creation pushed by professors and students.\u00a0Finally, ADAPT will create new training programs at MIT, including &#8220;<em>Additive Manufacturing for Innovative Design and Production<\/em>&#8220;, a program certified in collaboration with Protolabs.\u00a0Find more information on the MIT&#8217;s
