Regardless of the general use of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/applications-by-sector\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">applications in different sectors<\/a>\u00a0we cover it.\u00a0Thus giving us a large variety of startups that emerge from the new technology.\u00a0Last week, we presented you the last startup for 2018.\u00a0As the year comes to an end, we would like to take a look back at all the new companies and give you a brief overview of our twelve #3DStartups of 2018.\u00a0And most importantly, don&#8217;t forget to vote for your favourite 3D startup\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/3d-startup-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a>\u00a0!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/3d-startup-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-41960 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Startup_2018_Leaderboard.gif\" alt=\"3D printing startups\" width=\"850\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>#3DStartups of 2018: January \/ 3D MicroPrint<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A cooperation between EOS GmbH and the 3D-Micromac AG resulted in 2013 in the startup\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/3d-microprint-interview-150120184\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3D MicroPrint<\/a>, which developed a new printing process. This process to ensure an even finer resolution of prints.\u00a0Within the &#8220;Microlaser Sintering (MLS)&#8221;, additive manufacturing is combined with laser micromachining on an industrial level.\u00a0The process of the company is similar to the powder bed process.\u00a0The biggest difference relates above all to the powder particle size, which is significantly smaller than the conventional one!\u00a0We had the chance to talk to XYZ from MicroPrint and learn more about the company and its new technology.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16221 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/3d-microprint-fin.jpg\" alt=\"Startups of the year 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>#3DStartups of 2018:<\/strong><strong> February \/ Fabric8Labs<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The founders of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/fabric8labs-interview-050220184\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fabric8Labs<\/a>\u00a0were already interested in 3D printing before they got into the business. They developed a method to create entire rockets in just 60 days. A production method, which could possibly start in just a few years.\u00a0The founders call it the &#8220;Stargate Process&#8221;, a process that produces complex rockets much cost effective and faster.\u00a0In addition, the process with approximately 1,000 parts requires significantly fewer objects than the traditional manufacturing process with approximately 100,000 parts.\u00a0However, the American company is still not at that stage yet, the last steps are still missing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16224 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Relativity-Sace-fin.jpg\" alt=\"Startups of the year 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>#3DStartups of 2018:<\/strong><strong> May \/ Identify3D<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Within additive manufacturing, the issue of intellectual property protection is very vibrant. Especially when it comes to the medicine and aerospace industry.\u00a0There are yet to be any legal regulations on the area.\u00a0This is where the startup\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/startup3d-identify3d080520184\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Identify3D<\/a>\u00a0comes into play.\u00a0The young California company developed a 3D software for the privacy of 3D models.\u00a0It offers an end-to-end solution, from the CAD model to manufacturing, integrating data protection, repeatability and traceability.\u00a0The company&#8217;s goal is the protection of data, the reduction of production fluctuations and the provision of traceability.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16225 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Identify3D-fin.jpg\" alt=\"Startups of the year 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>#3DStartups of 2018:<\/strong><strong> June \/ Vader Systems<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To\u00a0help\u00a0companies find additive metal processing\u00a0technology that meets\u00a0their needs, the startup\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/vadar-systems-3dstartup060620184\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vader Systems,<\/a>\u00a0developed\u00a0a new technology; the MagnetoJet \u2122.\u00a0The American company works closely with its customers to understand their individual applications and to find a tailored solution accordingly.\u00a0In general, the technology uses the control and precision of an electromagnetic field to drive liquefied metal droplets and produce high-integrity, high-density objects faster and at lower cost. The result can easily be seen: Accuracies in the micrometer range and at double the speed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16226 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Vader-Systems.jpg\" alt=\"Startups of the year 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>#3DStartups of the year: July \/ Cubicure<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This young company has already won innovation awards with its development of high performance polymers for industrial additive manufacturing and became our startup of the month in July.\u00a0We are of course talking about\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/3dstartup-cubicure-090720184\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cubicure.<\/a>\u00a0The company was founded in 2015 as a spin-off of the Vienna University of Technology and is dedicated to research in thermoplastic materials.\u00a0The aim of the This Austrian company was to combine high strength accuracy and surface quality with good thermo-mechanical properties.\u00a0They achieved this through their newly developed polymers, which can be used with their self-developed printing process; the &#8220;hot lithography&#8221; process.\u00a0This specially developed and patented heating and coating mechanism processes highly viscous resins and is already available in the specially designed Caligma 200 3D printer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16227 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Cubicure-fin.jpg\" alt=\"Startups of the year 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>#3DStartups of 2018:<\/strong><strong> August \/ Tailored Fits<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Swiss company\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/3dstartup-tailored-fits060820184\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tailored Fits<\/a>\u00a0worked on a digital solution for additive, industrial manufacturing in the sporting goods world.\u00a0Their innovation is based on 3D scanning and 3D printing, creating custom and anatomically correct fits for sports shoes, protective equipment and more.\u00a0This is to support the natural movement and possible pressure points and to prevent pain.\u00a0First, it captures the customer&#8217;s body data using 3D scanning, then integrates the biometric data into a perfectly matched product, allowing the end product to deliver optimum fit and performance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16228 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Taylored-Fits-Fin.jpg\" alt=\"Startups of the year 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>#3DStartups of 2018:<\/strong><strong> September \/ AMendate<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The German startup\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/startup-amendate-topology-optimization-software-130920184\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AMendate is<\/a>\u00a0focusing on the software within 3D technology, which is supposed to create 3D print objects almost fully automatically.\u00a0With its topology optimization software, the company focuses on speed and simplicity for the user.\u00a0This is to obtain a fast and optimised generation of complex structures without complex, manual effort, which are optimally adapted to the loads with a reduced use of materials.\u00a0The core element of the software is the automatic interpretation, as well as the subsequent transfer into common CAD formats.<\/p>\n<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16229 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/AMendate-fin.jpg\" alt=\"Startups of the year 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>#3DStartups of 2018:<\/strong><strong> October \/ BIOLIFE4D<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the biggest problems of modern medicine is the still far too long list of people waiting for a donor organ.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/biolife4d-biotech-pioneer-151020184\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BIOLIFE4D<\/a>\u00a0works on a possible solution to this with the help of the bio-pressure.\u00a0The young company has already identified short-term opportunities and, as a result, launched their pacemaker to the market.\u00a0The long-term goal is the 3D printing of a transplantable heart.\u00a0These are built from top to bottom, as in normal 3D printing, but not fused with heat.\u00a0Instead, a scaffold holds the cells in place until it organically assembles itself.\u00a0With their technology, they want to create viable organs for transplantation, as well as for the testing of medicines and thus save both human and animal life.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16230 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/BIOLIFE4D-fin.jpg\" alt=\"Startups of the year 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>#3DStartups of 2018:<\/strong><strong> November \/ Virtual Foundry<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/3dstartup-virtual-foundry-3d-metal-printing-with-fff-technology-051120184\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Virtual Foundry<\/a>\u00a0is an American startup that promotes 3D metal printing by making its own filaments.\u00a0The company started with their first Filamet \u2122 line and they are constantly developing new materials and researching new methods of material production.\u00a0The special feature of the Filamet \u2122 line is that they contain only 80% metal and are compatible with any FDM printer.\u00a0The metal powder is enclosed with PLA binder so no respirator or special handling equipment is needed.\u00a0The company already offers numerous filaments and works with its customers on specific solutions from almost any material.<\/p>\n<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16231 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/The-Virtual-Foundry-fin.jpg\" alt=\"Startups of the year 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>#3DStartups of 2018:<\/strong><strong> December \/ Yuyo<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The French company\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/3dstartup-yuyo-and-their-3d-printed-surfboards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yuyo<\/a>\u00a0is dedicated to solving the paradox of surfing, and turned to 3D printing to do so.\u00a0The paradox is that the surfers, who have a close affinity to nature and their natural environment through sport, use surfboards that are anything but environmentally friendly in their manufacture.\u00a0There is a lot of waste, they are not recyclable and generally toxic to the marine environment.\u00a0For this purpose, the young company now wants to offer locally produced boards. These will become significantly more environmentally friendly with the help of additive manufacturing.\u00a0Not only will is cut the amount of waste, the material will also be largely recyclable.\u00a0The boards will reach a maximum height of 2.40 m and a width of 64 cm with production time of between 30 to 40 hours.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16276 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Yuyooo.jpg\" alt=\"Startups of the year 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As you can see there has been a wide range of #3DStartups of 2018.
