The Crane WASP &#8220;Infinite 3D printer&#8221;, a modular machine accommodating to the needs of the industry.\u00a0It was presented on the 6th and 7th of October in Massa Lombarda.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2015, WASP introduced its BigDelta machine which initially aimed to allow the construction of affordable housing;\u00a0the Italian company had announced a year later that they would be able to build an entire\u00a0ecological village called Shambalha.\u00a0Equipped with 6 modular arms to assemble, the BigDelta could move a load of 200 kg and would be compatible with local materials such as straw or soil.\u00a0WASP wanted to upgrade its 3D XXL printer and have now unveiled its iteration, the Crane WASP.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_39779\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<div id=\"attachment_39779\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-39779\" class=\"wp-image-39779 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/WASP-1.jpg\" alt=\"crane wasp\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-39779\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Crane WASP modulates as needed<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>3D printing to infinity?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is a collaborative and modular 3D printer with several configurations.\u00a0According to the manufacturer, it consists of a main base on which we add the different types of cranes that expand the printing area.\u00a0The basic module offers a print volume of 6.60 meters in diameter and 3 meters in height.\u00a0It would be able to extrude conventional concrete, bio-sourced concrete and natural pulp.\u00a0By adding ties and print arms to the module, we would get an infinite manufacturing system, hence it being called the &#8220;Infinite 3D printer&#8221;.<\/p><div class=\"dnati-inside-article-leaderboard\" style=\"text-align: center;\" id=\"dnati-576193544\"><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/app.swapcard.com\/login\/event\/additiv-defense-2026\/ticket\/VGlja2V0VHlwZV83MDM4MQ==\/page\/UmVnaXN0cmF0aW9uRm9ybV81NjE4Ng==\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"LB\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/03\/LB.gif\" alt=\"\"  width=\"850\" height=\"150\"   \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Italian manufacturer states: &#8220;<em>It is not necessary to \u2018cover\u2019 the entire area involved in the construction with the printing area of the WASP Cranes because they can be reconfigured and can advance with generative attitude depending on the growth and shape of the building. More WASP Cranes, when working together, have a potentially infinite printing area and can be set by the on-site operators following the evolution of the architectural project.<\/em>&#8221; Just like the BigDelta, the 3D printer is easily assembled as well as removable afterwards.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-39780\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/wasp1.jpg\" alt=\"crane wasp\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">WASP first tested the crane via their construction project called Gaia, a house printed in 3D from a mix of earth, straw and compost.
