This is a hands\u2011on opportunity to work with the latest industrial\u2011grade 3\u2011D printers\u2014from fused\u2011filament machines to high\u2011resolution resin systems\u2014and learn and support the priniting of challenging hardware geometries that traditional manufacturing simply can\u2019t achieve.\u202fThis position you\u2019ll support the day\u2011to\u2011day flow of the AM Center, helping with everything from part\u2011job scheduling and printer setup, job printing to post\u2011processing and assembly of program hardware.\u202fYou\u2019ll assist engineers and designers in designing, printing, and finishing novel components that demonstrate new technical concepts, gaining exposure to a wide range of high\u2011performance AM materials and their real\u2011world applications at BAE.\u202fYour days will be varied and never dull, blending mechanical\u2011hands\u2011on work with technical problem\u2011solving, all under the mentorship of experienced AM engineers.\u202fYou\u2019ll collaborate directly with engineers, programs, and cross\u2011functional stakeholders, building a solid foundation in additive manufacturing and engineering operations while contributing to projects that push the boundaries of what\u2019s possible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p><div class=\"dnati-inside-article-leaderboard dnati-entity-placement\" style=\"text-align: center;\" id=\"dnati-2678158305\"><div id=\"dnati-3009311830\"><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/us06web.zoom.us\/webinar\/register\/1617903432770\/WN_HXjKk1zISRuXh4OTKD_giQ\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"leaderboard\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3dnatives.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/leaderboard-1.gif\" alt=\"\"  width=\"850\" height=\"150\"   \/><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n<ul class=\"auyl8d auymfm auymt3\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Manage Production Queues: Work side\u2011by\u2011side with the AM\u202fCenter team to track job schedules, prioritize print orders, and keep the production line running smoothly.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and Verify Build Files: Import, clean, and review 3\u2011D model files; set up machine parameters, slice files, and confirm that parts meet design specifications before printing.<\/li>\n<li>Operate and Monitor Printers: Run fused\u2011filament (FFF) and resin\u2011based printers, perform routine calibrations, and troubleshoot issues in real time to ensure high\u2011quality builds.<\/li>\n<li>Post\u2011Process Printed Parts: Execute support removal, part assembly, insert installation, and finishing operations; inspect finished components and package them for delivery to engineering programs.<\/li>\n<li>Interpret Technical Documentation: Read hardware model files and engineering drawings, identify required inserts or fixtures, and assist in installing them on printed parts.<\/li>\n<li>Track Material Inventory: Monitor consumables (filaments, resins, build plates, etc.), log usage in the inventory system, and notify the Materials Manager when stock falls below reorder thresholds.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate Supplies &amp; Logistics: Gather and stage all necessary tools, post\u2011processing hardware, and ancillary supplies needed for each print job; ensure workstations remain organized and stocked.<\/li>\n<li>Support Design Iterations: Collaborate with engineers to make minor design adjustments, update CAD files, and re\u2011print prototypes as directed.<\/li>\n<li>Document Work &amp; Report Results: Log build parameters, material usage, and print outcomes in the database spreadsheets; generate brief status reports as needed for program leads and the AM\u202fCenter manager.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, suggest enhancements to the internal BAE Systems AM\u202fCenter portal, and share ideas for better safety, cleanliness, or efficiency.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a Safe, Clean Workspace: Follow all safety protocols, keep the lab tidy, and adhere to compliance standards for equipment and material handling.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the AMCentres chemical inventories. Order, inspect and disposition. Creation of new part numbers when necessary. Monitor Hazardous Material\/Waste Disposition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Profile<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Required Education, Experience, &amp; Skills<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"auyl8d auymfm auymt3\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Mechanical aptitude \u2013 comfortable handling tools, fixtures, and able to interpret engineering drawings and model files.<\/li>\n<li>Technical communication \u2013 clear written and verbal reporting; can document build parameters, material usage, and any results in Excel or other tracking tools.<\/li>\n<li>Team collaboration &amp; independence \u2013 works effectively both as a solo contributor and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.<\/li>\n<li>Organization &amp; multitasking \u2013 Meticulous, manages multiple print jobs, schedules, and supply\u2011chain tasks without losing focus on safety or quality.<\/li>\n<li>Software proficiency \u2013 Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and beneficial if familiar with database use (Access or similar) for inventory and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Safety\u2011first mindset \u2013 follows lab safety protocols, maintains a clean work environment, and promptly reports hazards or equipment issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Preferred Education, Experience, &amp; Skills<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"auyl8d auymfm auymt3\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Hands\u2011on experience &#8211; Building, assembling, or repairing mechanical components (e.g., robotics clubs, shop class, maker\u2011space projects).<\/li>\n<li>Prior exposure \/use &#8211; 3\u2011D\u2011printing machines (FDM, SLA, DLP or similar) and the associated slicing software (e.g., GrabCAD, Strealine, FixtureMate, Cura, PrusaSlicer, PreForm).<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity &#8211; with a CAD packages such as SolidWorks, PTC\u202fCreo, Fusion\u202f360, or another parametric modeling tool.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate &#8211; ability to follow written procedures, maintain accurate logs, and track inventory in a workshop or lab setting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Pay Information<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>Full-Time Salary Range: $57319 &#8211; $91710<\/p>\n<p>Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
