Which Companies Manufacture 3D Printing Resin in the United States?

Published on August 13, 2025 by Julia S.

Resins play a central role in many 3D printing technologies. In fact, the very first 3D printing method—stereolithography(SLA)—relies on a UV-sensitive liquid resin that solidifies when exposed to ultraviolet light. This process, known as photopolymerization, is a hallmark of resin 3D printing. Other popular methods like Digital Light Processing (DLP) and Multijet fusion(MJF) also use light or heat to cure resin, though each operates in slightly different ways. These technologies are prized for their ability to create high-detail, smooth-surfaced prints, making them ideal for both prototypes and end-use parts.

In the United States, there’s a thriving ecosystem of 3D printing resin manufacturers, and we’ve compiled a map of as many as we could find. Resins come in a wide variety of formulations, each suited for different applications. Standard resins are commonly used for creating prototypes, figurines, and design models, offering good resolution and surface finish. For more demanding uses, industrial-grade photopolymers are designed with enhanced mechanical properties such as heat resistance, toughness, and flexibility—perfect for engineering, dental, or even aerospace applications. What sets resin apart is its customizability: manufacturers can tailor formulations by adding specific materials like ceramic powders or flexible polymers to achieve targeted performance traits. Thanks to this versatility, resin-based 3D printing is used across an impressive range of industries—from consumer goods to medical devices and beyond.
