Have you ever wanted a 3D printed race car? The Eleven-O-Six student racing team from Hamburg, Germany, have been working with the technology to optimise theirs. By using the BigRep ONE 3D printer the team managed to increase the speed and shape of their Formula One. Securing the success of their fully functional 3D printed race car.

Top 2: 3D printed ankle implant

China has long been in the foreground of technology and have also implemented this in their medical treatments. Doctors in northeast China’s Dalian, in the Liaoning province, helped a woman regain her ability to walk. This was done by implanting 3D printed ankle joints. Doctors claim that this implant is the first of its kind.

Top 3: Bionic Eye

3D printing have been bringing us into the future for a while. Now researchers at the University of Minnesota have taken further steps toward this by creating a “bionic eye”. Sounding like something from a Sci-fi movie they have done so by fully 3D printing for the first time an array of light receptors on a hemispherical surface. Worth taking a look at!
