Top 5 Videos: Additive Manufacturing at IMTS 2024
As with every week, we are taking a look back at the 3D printing videos that we most enjoyed. This time, IMTS 2024 may have wrapped up last week, but if you missed it, don’t despair! The event has put out a highlight reel including the use of additive manufacturing at the event. Next, check out the Mazak hybrid manufacturing machine, also at IMTS this year, before learning more about the FLSUN T1, S1 and V400 additive manufacturing solutions. Last but not least, an interview with SPEE3D one of the leading Australian metal 3D printer manufacturers and Fronius Perfect Welding takes a look at the qualification of a pressure vessel made with 3D printing. Happy watching and have a great start to your week!
Top 1: Additive Manufacturing and IMTS 2024
IMTS is one of the largest manufacturing events in North America. Taking place every two years, it attracts users from a number of different fields and additive manufacturing is increasingly making its presence known. This year, a number of exhibitors from the 3D printing world were present at the show, around 80 in total. In fact, the presence was so clear that additive has even been featured in this highlight reel from the show! Recreate the memories or see what you missed in the video below:
Top 2: A Closer Look at the Mazak Hybrid Manufacturing Solution at IMTS
Another video from IMTS 2024 shows off the Mazak hybrid manufacturing machine! This solution combines 5-axis machining and additive technology, ensuring that users can add and subtract on the same envelope. Watch the interview to learn more about it!
Top 3: FLSUN Shows its Range
Chinese manufacturer FLSUN has established itself with its range of 3D printers that have been made for different needs. In this video, catch up with Gloria as she does a head-to-head show down between three 3D printers, the FLUSN T1, S1, V400. Check it out to see the differences in speed, build sizes and unique features in each 3D printer.
Top 4: An Interview With SPEE3D
We have told you about SPEE3D before. The Australian manufacturer has made quite the name for itself with its cold spray additive manufacturing technology, which is especially ideally for quickly producing metal parts on-site. In this interview, Byron delves into not just how the technology works but also applications in industries like defense, mining, and oil & gas, highlighting especially the ability of the print to operate in extreme conditions. Don’t miss it!
Top 5: A Certified Pressure Vessel Made With 3D Printing
One of the remaining obstacles for 3D printed parts is in ensuring certification for different industries. But that does not mean it’s not possible. In this video, Fronius Additive shows off one such case with a sample qualification of an additively manufacturing pressure vessel. Watch the video to learn more about the joint project between Fronius, Linde Engineering and TÜV Süd where they look at the applicability of the draft standard prEN 13445-14 for components of unfired pressure vessels, testing them to determine how they perform.
