This week’s Top 5 Videos of the week contains videos from a very wide variety of sectors. From the medical sector, to engineering and architecture, to food, we have covered all the bases this week. A new Top 5 videos is released every Sunday, so remember to check the new videos next week too!

1 – 3D Printed Ribcage

Another medical application of 3D printing, this video shows how a girl was able to implant a 3D print ribcage into her chest to counteract the problems she was having. The precision of 3D printing meant a custom piece could be made that exactly fit the area of ribcage to replace.

2 – 3D Printed Food

Israeli scientists have recently figured out how to use nano-cellulose to create customised food from scratch using 3D printing. Using this method, you can create food with customised amounts of proteins, fats, sugars, and more to create these foods. This could lead to a much healthier diet in the future.

3 – 3D Printed Bridge

This huge achievement in Amsterdam was recently unveiled as a 3D printed bridge was opened. The bridge, made of concrete, is mainly going to be used for cyclists, and is the first 3D printed bridge.

4 – Palmyra Replica

Since ISIS destroyed the original Palmyra during 2015, there have been several reconstructions in a display against ISIS’ terror. This video shows a part of Palmyra, The Tetrapylon, being reconstructed at the Toronto Public Library, still containing all the fine details of the structure.

5 – 3D print your own clock!

This video shows the steps required to create your own 3D printed clock. You simply just 3D print the circular clock face, the numbers, and hands, and then attach them whilst adding a battery-powered motor. If you’re looking for a simple first project, this is a great project to learn the basics.
