1. Smartphone-controlled 3D-printed skateboard

This skateboard can be controlled with your phone. All you need to do to accelerate is tilt your phone forwards, and tilt it backwards to slow down! These neat skateboards retail for around $900, or you can print your own for $550.

2. Desktop metal 3D printing

This video demonstrates how large an impact 3D printing can have on everyday and corporate life, as a result of it becoming more integrated. Custom-made pieces will be able to be printed on demand, at home or in the office. This is not limited to plastics either, as shown in the video. Metal objects can now be created to our specifications, which is incredible.

3. 3D-printing previously unweldable alloys

Not only is this video interesting, but it also demonstrates 3D printing again doing what was previously thought impossible. This will have a number of profound effects, such as potentially allowing lighter aircraft to be built, that can fly further without needing to refuel.

4. 3D printed flamethrower

This flamethrower is absolutely crazy. It is moulded around the user’s hand, fitting on like a glove. Then you can feel like a superhero, as you shoot flames out from your wrist. The fact that this technology was fairly easy to create for this video is both scary and impressive.

5. – McLaren Applied Technology 3D-printed armour – “Project Invincible”

As well as producing extremely fast cars, McLaren also works hard in other areas. This video showcases their attempts to create “invincible” armour, and then explains potential uses in the healthcare/medical sector as well as in typical situations where armour may be required.

A new top 5 videos is posted every Sunday, don’t miss out!
