TOP 5 Videos of the Week: Kodak, Makerbot, & more!
This week’s Top 5 Videos of the Week contains a variety of interesting videos published in the last seven days. Since there were a number of exciting videos posted from large companies in the 3D printing industry this week, we have included a few of these in our ranking. Remember that a new Top 5 Videos is posted every Sunday, so don’t miss out on next week’s post!
1 – KODAK Portrait 3D Printer
KODAK have entered the 3D printing market, with their Portrait 3D printer. This interesting machine is KODAK’s first, having been typically thought of as a photography company previously. In the video, the printer is shown to be able to print complex prints, in this case an artwork that changes when held towards the light.
2 – Renishaw Canada’s 3D Print Solutions Centre
This video offers a rare inside look into Renishaw Canada’s solutions centre. In the video, we are explained what Renishaw is focused on achieving, a variety of the parts and solutions they are able to create, and what 3D printing and additive manufacturing allows them to do.
3 – 3D Printing Transforming Dentistry
This video outlines the areas in which 3D printing is redefining, within dentistry. Since the dentistry industry is projected to be worth $3bn by 2020, it makes sense for companies to get involved. This video highlights other relevant solutions too, such as 3D printed metal toothbrushes, sleep apnea solutions, and teeth/mouth molds.
4 – 3D Printed Chess Board & Pieces
This video is a detour from the very serious solutions and printers in the first three videos. YouTuber ‘That3DPrintGuy’ used 3D printing to create each piece of a chess board, and all of the pieces. The result is a futuristic looking version of the ancient game, that people at home can print too.
5 – MakerBot supplies 3D Printers at Montclair Public Schools
This video is important because technology is becoming such a large part of the required skills for jobs. Therefore, MakerBot have partnered with Montclair Public Schools to offer 31 of their printers around the schools to offer insights into how to 3D print. This education will help these students enormously in their careers, and perhaps spur their imaginations too.
