Top 5: Siemens Looks into AM for a Circular Economy

In our top 5 for this week, we look at a video from Siemens which shows how their users see the link between additive manufacturing and a circular economy. Additionally, in another video, Siemens shows its new partnership with American Desktop Metal, which aims to work in health and safety and data handling. A brief interlude for a foray into 3D printing for Halloween, then we look at French company Safran’s new ‘center of excellence’ where they hope to unite their design, development and manufacturing processes for industry. Top 1: Siemens Looks at the Link Between AM and a Circular Economy

German technology company Siemens has made a summary of their recent Speed Networking event, in which they analyzed the link between additive manufacturing and circular economy. The circular economy (the ability to reuse materials as much as possible) could match perfectly with 3D printing’s capabilities. Find out more in the video below.

Top 2: Siemens and Desktop Metal Have Entered a New Partnership

In business news, German company Siemens and American Desktop Metal (NYSE: DM) have announced a new multi-faceted partnership which aims to increase the use of additive manufacturing for applications in production. They hope to target the world’s largest manufacturers. Particular industrial-scale projects will be health and safety and data handling. In particular, they will focus on binder jetting as the method of choice. Check out the video for more.

Top 4: Safran Shows its New Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence

Safran, a French multinational company that designs, develops and manufactures aircraft engines, rocket engines as well as various aerospace and defense-related equipment, has opened a new center of excellence near Bordeaux. There they hope to bring together in one single place all the processes needed for these tasks. This would hopefully lead to a improved productivity and expansion of their business vision with regards to additive manufacturing.

Top 5: Unboxing Stratasys’ Latest FDM 3D Printer

Finally, we take a look at Stratasys’ new F370 FDM printer. In this video, viewers are given a tour of the build plate and the features. As a global player in 3D printing, Stratasys’ releases are always exciting and this one looks particularly cool!
