The four-day trade show came to a close last week, and we are still soaking in all of the insights from the show. 3D Printing Show: AM Trends
In this episode of the 3D Printing Show, the 3Dnatives CEO Alex Martel interviewed representatives from three companies to get the scoop on their latest innovations. First, he spoke to Michael Sun, CEO of InssTek, about their DED solutions and what sets them apart. Then, Alex met with Pierre Gonnetan from Arkema, a company that’s a key player in specialty materials. There was big excitement about big 3D printers at Formnext 2024! In this video, we feature the top five, from Yizumi, Meltio, DWS, Fanum, and KraussMaffei. These large-format additive manufacturing solutions are so big—we couldn’t miss them! The printers we showcase here are diverse in nature. From a robot printer from Yizumi to an SLA solution from DWS, these printers demonstrate that build volume doesn’t have to be limited by the type of technology used!
HP’s New Flame-Retardant Material
Check out this video to see HP’s new halogen-free, flame-retardent material! In recent years, the company, known in the additive manufacturing space for Multi Jet Fusion has been focusing on sustainability and 3D printing. We interviewed Alex Monino, Senior Vice President of Personalization and 3D Printing, who discussed the challenge of scalability and HP’s strategies to address it. Duygu Gunay, 3D Product Manager, introduced PA12FR, a new halogen-free, flame-retardant nylon material with 50% recyclability, developed in collaboration with Evonik. Additionally, Liz Stortstrom, also a 3D Product Manager, highlighted HP’s efforts to lower the total cost of ownership for its equipment while delivering more sustainable solutions.

Already a prominent name in China, TPM3D has increasingly ventured into the international market, with its SLS 3D printers. We spoke with Lucy Zhai, the CEO of TPM3D, who shared insights into the company’s history and its participation at this year’s event. 3DCeram is a French company specializing in ceramic 3D printing technologies. As specialists in stereolithography (SLA), their team has developed a variety of industrial machines that are precise, speedy and capable of LFAM. This year at Formnext, the company introduced CERIA, their latest artificial intelligence integrated into their 3D printers, which enhances additive manufacturing on an industrial scale. This AI system is capable of real-time analysis of both the print files and the manufacturing processes, effectively reducing the likelihood of errors.
