Fiat Topolino

Put together a Fiat Topolino, 3D printing and summer… the result? A Fiat Topolino spiaggina specially made by Carrozzeria Castagna of Milan! The four-wheeler has been specifically designed just for the beach and with an unmistakable Italian style, immediately evoking the idea of a beach vacation.

The model arrives brand new for summer 2024 and has been adapted for both stretch and regular convertible versions by the Milan-based Castagna brand. 3D printing, on which the company has focused heavily in recent years, was key in the vehicle’s transformation process. But what does Castagna’s new Fiat Topolino look like in detail?

Short and long Fiat Topolino compared.

The Fiat Topolino Becomes Beach-Ready

The Milan-based company Castagna is known for its long activity and experience in the design and customization of iconic and unique cars. This time it has got its hands on the Fiat Topolino, a small, lightweight and electric car that, now in a beach-ready version, is sure to capture the hearts of design and car enthusiasts with a mix of vintage charm and modernity. More specifically, the new version includes the removal of doors and roof, which have been replaced by raised thresholds with anti-intrusion steel bars and a roll cage, respectively. Transparent side guards are also present.

Next to the dashboard are chrome-plated oval doors that conceal the shower and electric socket for charging. To stay true to the typical Castagna body style, there was no shortage of solid wood covering the cabin. Customers can choose from mahogany, teak, oak, wenge, and even lemon wood, to keep with the theme. In case of rain, a steel frame supporting a waterproof awning can be fitted.

The long version of the Fiat Topolino includes a 30-cm rear overhang.

3D Printing and Customization

Modifications to the structure of the Topolino were made of high-strength aluminum to provide the necessary safety without affecting the total weight too much. Body parts, on the other hand, are made by 3D printing through a proprietary process developed by Castagna Body Shop, which involves the use of carbon fiber.

The car is highly customizable in terms of trim, colors, ranging from pastel to metallic, down to the smallest details. For example, you can also customize the dashboard, choose a wooden steering wheel or a cork floor.

Castagna’s Topolino is fully customizable.

Available in two versions, short and long, the long version features a 30 cm rear overhang with a cargo area made of teak and an additional lower luggage compartment. In contrast, the short version stays true to the original Fiat dimensions. In terms of price, the short version is priced at 25,000 euros, while the long version is priced at 35,000 euros.
