We spoke with the event organizers to get an inside look at what attendees can expect from this year’s edition.

3DN: Could you introduce TCT Asia?

Established in 2015, TCT Asia is now the leading event for 3D printing and additive manufacturing intelligence in China. Part of the global TCT network, the TCT Asia mission goes beyond simply raising awareness; it is focused on developing a 360-degree understanding of the potential of additive manufacturing and 3D printing technology to increase utilization at all stages of design, engineering and manufacturing. This focus on real-world applications, targeted intelligence and information, aligned with the complete range of technology on the show floor presented by over 450 exhibitors will create an innovative event experience with networking opportunities, practical takeaways and highly focused content to help designers, engineers and buyers evaluate, adopt and optimize their additive requirements.

This year marks the eleventh edition of the TCT Asia event.

3DN: What will be new at TCT Asia 2025?

Drawing insights from the CONTEXT report, the rapidly expanding consumer entry-level market continues to thrive, inspiring our launch of the groundbreaking 3D Genius Hub. This initiative distills industry expertise into three strategic pillars: Innovation, Manufacturing, and People, delivering professional-grade design methodologies and forward-thinking frameworks to empower specialists across sectors. Serving as both a creative accelerator and a bridge to transformative solutions, the Hub redefines collaborative potential in additive manufacturing.

Featuring six theme zones, the show highlights the various aspects in the 3D printing and additive manufacturing supply chain, targeting various sectors like machinery, materials, software, consumer products, farm solutions, etc. With real-world applications, targeted intelligence and information, aligned with the complete range of technology on the show floor. This will create an innovative event experience with networking opportunities, practical takeaways and highly focused content to help designers, engineers and buyers evaluate, adopt and optimize their additive requirements.

3DN: What are the goals you have set? What is the target audience for this event?

TCT Asia 2025 aims to accelerate industry collaboration, showcase transformative technologies, and tackle challenges like scalability and sustainability in additive manufacturing. With over 450 exhibitors highlighting real-world applications and targeted innovations—from live demos to expert insights—the event offers practical solutions and networking opportunities. Designers, engineers, and buyers will gain actionable strategies to evaluate and optimize AM adoption.

3DN: For the conferences, what topics can attendees expect to see?

TCT Asia is more than an exhibition — it’s where the additive manufacturing community comes alive. The TCT Asia concurrent conference will look at additive manufacturing from its most basic principles. It will cover what to consider when assessing whether to invest and what successful introduction experiences key users like CASIC, i-Space, Deep Blue Aerospace, Shanghai Electric, FAW JIEFANG, Volvo, GE HealthCare and BCG etc. Click here to see the sessions you can attend, and find more information about the LEARNING PROGRAM in the image below:

3DN: In your opinion, how has the manufacturing industry evolved in Asia? What role does 3D printing play in this?

China’s manufacturing sector has shifted from mass production to tech-driven innovation under policies like “Made in China 2025,” with 3D printing emerging as a cornerstone of this transformation. The key developments in China’s manufacturing include:

  1. Smart Factories: Integration of IoT, AI, and 3D printing accelerates R&D (e.g., aerospace components for C919 aircraft) and supports flexible small-batch production.
  2. High-Tech Breakthroughs: Reduced reliance on foreign tech via innovations in aerospace (COMAC’s lightweight 3D-printed parts) and medical sectors (customized implants by AK Medical).
  3. Sustainability: 3D printing aligns with China’s “Dual Carbon Goals” by minimizing waste—e.g., Farsoon’s recycled nylon powders.

3D Printing’s Strategic Role:

  • Tech Sovereignty: Companies like BLT and Shining 3D lead in large-scale metal printing and multi-material solutions, challenging global monopolies.
  • Industry Applications: EVs (BYD’s lightweight chassis), consumer electronics (Huawei’s foldable phone hinges), and rapid prototyping.

While gaps persist in high-end materials and software, China’s focus on localized supply chains and global tech exports positions it as a future AM hub.

3DN: Any last words to invite readers to the event?
