Raise3D Launches Its First Resin 3D Printer

Published on November 7, 2023 by Michael M.

While the additive manufacturing world gathers in Frankfurt for Formnext 2023, it is no surprise that many companies use this opportunity to unveil their newest and most cutting-edge products. The annual event brings together industry players, big and small, from all over the world and Shanghai-based Raise3D has used the opportunity to unveil the launch of their first resin 3D printer, the DF2 Solution, marking their first foray into the resin 3D printer market.

Raise3D is known for its range of industrial-grade FFF printers focusing on high performance. With their new DF2 Solution, the company is branching into Digital Light Processing (DLP) resin 3D printing and they aim to keep their performance standards high. The company cited the development of a resin 3D printer as a means to provide more options for client applications, including some situations where their two technologies, FFF and DLP, could be used in combination to achieve better results.

Our goal has always been to make resin printing hassle-free for production, with unmatched repeatability, unparalleled quality, and remarkable speed. With the DF2 Solution, we are proud to have achieved a solid step in this direction,” said Edward Feng, CEO of Raise3D. Part of that solid step in moving into the resin 3D printing market, the company made the conscious choice to develop a DLP 3D printer due to the overall balance of accuracy, speed, and longevity the technology can provide its users.

The DF2 Solution has been designed for ease of use, efficiency and quality in prototyping and low-volume production. This is achieved in part due to the fully integrated package which constitutes the ‘Solution’ part of its name. The combined solution suite consists of the DF2 printer, the DF Wash automated cleaner, DF Cure advanced curing station, and an auto-filling station. Automation and minimal interaction are some of the main pillars of the DF2 Solution with a smart build plate, automatic material detection, and many automated features to assist the user during post-processing and cleaning. The quality of the print is highly prized as well, as the DF2 features a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a pixel of 78.5 μm with a cutting-edge LED light engine optimized for precise DLP printing. The company is also announcing the start of an Open Resin Program, which will allow a wide range of available resins to choose from a variety of manufacturers.

Following Raise3D’s announcement, the DF2 Solution is now available for pre-sale, with early adopter discounts available for orders made within the month of November. Raise3D has stated that they expect shipping to begin in Q1, 2024. In the meantime, the team is also presenting the DF2 Solution live at Formnext form their booth located in Hall 12.1, Booth D-11, where visitors can get a firsthand look at their new machine. The DF2 strives to achieve the same level of quality and precision that is expected from their line of FFF 3D printers
