ImplementAM Joins Forces with SPE and 3Dnatives to Elevate Additive Manufacturing Education
ImplementAM, a front-runner for educational one-day workshops on 3D printing and additive manufacturing, has officially been acquired by the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE). This is SPE’s second acquisition in additive manufacturing, following its purchase of 3Dnatives earlier this year. Together, the shared goal of the three businesses is to bridge the gap between traditional manufacturing-based businesses and additive manufacturing and 3D printing. This is expected to be done by offering innovative ways to enhance manufacturing processes.
Empowering the Industry Through Education
As mentioned above, ImplementAM specializes in educating manufacturing professionals about the potential of 3D printing technologies. Thus helping them to revolutionize and expedite their processes using digital tools. Notably, ImplementAM’s approach revolves around a problem-solving methodology based on the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, while presenting a range of collaborative case studies and collaborative exercises.

The ImplementAM workshop series was created by David Tucker and Kristin Mulherin, industry veterans who met during their tenure at HP 3D Printing. They share a common belief that for additive manufacturing to flourish, companies must possess the technical foundation and a profound understanding of the design and business aspects that ensure its successful integration.

Empowering Traditional Manufacturers
ImplementAM connects traditional manufacturers through interactive programs, emphasizing the development of products grounded in hybrid design approaches, encompassing both traditional manufacturing principles and digital components. Their workshops empower individuals and companies to create products that offer improved user experience, reduced waste in production, faster development cycles, and greater proximity to end users.
Tucker further explained, “Our goal with ImplementAM is to bring in-person workshops to the regions where people work and live. Our day-long workshops are often hosted at local breweries to facilitate networking and an overall sense of fun. They include facility tours and hands-on exercises, as well as expert presenters who share their experiences, challenges, and successes. We strive to offer a dynamic learning experience.”
Taking it Global
In addition to their upcoming workshops in Charlotte, NC (Oct. 19), Milwaukee, WI (Nov. 2), Phoenix, AZ (Dec. 7), and Austin, TX (Jan. 17), ImplementAM, with the global reach of 3Dnatives, is expected to expand its presence beyond the United States. Workshops for European audiences are already being planned for 2024.
